Upon arrival at Dubrovnik Airport, you will be welcomed to Croatia by yor local A&K Guard-ian Angel as you exit customs into the arrivals hall, and are transferred to your hotel. Your A&K Guardian Angel ensures your vacation operates smoothly and to your absolute satisfaction. Your representative is there on the ground to ensure that your travel arrangements run perfectly.

Hotel Excelsior is just a short walk from the heart of the ancient city of Dubrovnik and has breathtaking views over the old town and the lush island of Lokrum. Rooms are calm with warm natural tones coupled with modern touches such as complimentary Wi-Fi.

Enjoy a half day (4-hour) tour with your qualified English-speaking guide in Dubrovnik. Start the day from the lobby of your hotel with a walking tour of the old city of Dubrovnik, proclaimed a city museum by UNESCO. The old city is surrounded by a circuit of city walls; over a mile in length, and with a tower in each corner, they are a masterpiece of medieval and renaissance architecture. You will also stroll along the centuries-old main city promenade called Stradun; at one end of this street you will visit a 14th-century Franciscan Monastery whose cloister ranks among the most inspiring sites of the city. At the other end, see the church of St. Blaise and the Sponza Palace, and the Rector’s Palace. You will also visit the Dominican Church and Monastery, constructed during the 14th century at the same time as the city’s walls were being erected.

Board your private boat with local guide to tour around the Elaphite islands. This picturesque archipelago, in the vicinity of Dubrovnik, comprises 13 islands, islets and rocks. Abounding in lush subtropical vegetation consisting of laurel, cypress and pine trees, and fragranced by thyme and rosemary, the islands were formerly the favorite summer residence of the Dubrovnik aristocracy.

On your cruise, you will visit the three largest islands in the group; Kolocep, Lopud, and Sipan. You will experience interior landscapes covered by a dense pine forest. The inhabitants live in a fishing village that stretches along the sandy beach. You will have time at leisure to stroll through the winding streets, to swim on the Sunj beach or to have lunch in one of the excellent local restaurants. You will also enjoy a private tour with the owner of the villa of the Skocibuha family that stands impressively in Sudurad.

This morning you will be transferred along the Dalmatian Coast to Split by private vehicle. You will stop en-route in the small fishing town of Ston, and drive along the Peljesac peninsula, home to some of Croatia’s finest wines. Ston is a small, fortified town, celebrated for its medieval walls that circle the historic town centre. The Ston Channel is famed for its salt works, where sea salt has been crystallized for centuries. The water here also produced the correct conditions for oyster rearing.

Enjoy a half-day, four-hour tour of the city of Split today with your guide. Your tour starts with a visit to the Palace of the Emperor Diocletian; this palace was first built in the 3rd century AD, and its outline still forms the heart of the old city today. Also see Peristil Square where Diocletian made his speeches, and the imperial mausoleum that has now been converted into a Catholic church. Outside the palace you will see many charming piazzas where you can choose to relax and enjoy the view before returning to your hotel.

Today you will be transferred by private vehicle to the Split airport to check-in for your departure flight.

Cross the border into Montenegro, an independent state since 2006, and continue to Kotor where you meet your local guide who helps you discover this beautiful area of sandy beaches and high mountains. Your route takes you to Boka Kotorska, the most southerly fjord in Europe and one of the most beautiful bays in the area, where precipitous mountains rear up from azure waters. Continue past Risan and Perast, and visit the Church of Our Lady of the Rocks (Gospa od Skrpjela), a Baroque edifice that was first constructed in 1452 on a man-made islet. In the afternoon visit Kotor, a city designated a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Within the walls of Kotor, you will discover many bustling squares where locals love to sit, converse and enjoy a glass of wine.

Visit ancient Roman Salona by private vehicle. Salona is the largest archaeological site of Roman and Early Christian ruins in Croatia. You will also see the seven ‘Kaštela’; these buildings were fortifications built for protection from Turkish attacks. Finally you will visit Trogir, known as the ‘Jewel of the Adriatic.’ The city is renowned for the beauty of its buildings and fortifications, and is considered to be the best-preserved Romano-Gothic complex in Central Croatia.

“Croatia’s rare blend of glamour and old-fashioned authenticity make this Europe’s ‘it’ destination, where beaches and sunshine vie for attention with cultural treasures, ancient architecture and time-tested folk traditions.” - Lonely Planet

“Croatia has over 1,000 KM of costline and more than a thousand islands (66 of which are inhab-ited), it is one of Europe’s most beautiful seaside destinations. Backed by undulating greenhills to the north and dramatic mountains to the south, the emerald-blue waters are presided over by a series of finely preserved, walled medieval towns, packed with Venetian monuments. It should be on every-one’s bucket list.” - Fodors Travel
