Phase 1:

• Student who has submitted offer letter is NOT ALLOWED to change the company.

Phase 1:• Student who is still searching for

company can visit the advertisement section of ITP webpage for more opportunities.

• Student can view advertisement without logging in ITP webpage.

Phase 1: Insurance

• Student MUST be covered by insurance during ITP.

• Student will claim from insurance company if necessary. MMU does not handle any claims.

Phase 1: Documents Collection

• Date: 16-24 Jan 2014

• Time: Office Hours

• Venue: FOE office (refer to announcement)

• Student can collect documents only when student status is ‘hired’ in ITP webpage.

• Those with 77 credit hours, please see Dr.SLLim for documents collection

Phase 1: Documents Collection

• Student collects the following:

1. Log book (student keeps)

2. Letter to student (student keeps)

3. Letter to company (student gives to supervisor)

4. Company Assessment Form (student gives to supervisor near to the end of ITP period)

Phase 1: ICEMS Registration• Student needs to register ITP

(EPE3026) in ICEMS, by following the same procedure as registering a normal subject.

• Registration date: 17 – 30 March 2014 (first 2 weeks of Tri 3, 2013/2014).

• Student cannot register other subjects after registering ITP in ICEMS.

Phase 1: ICEMS Registration• If student is unable to register, it

could be due to two reasons:

1. Financially barred2. Have not obtained 78 CH

• Student who is financially barred is unable to register. The only solution is to pay the fees before you can register.

Phase 1: ICEMS Registration• Student who do not obtain 78 CH

are only able to register after the release of results of Tri 2, 2013/2014 (assuming student has been approved by the Dean to do ITP).

• Please contact ITP Chairperson after the release of results, expected in mid of March.

Phase 1: ICEMS Registration

• Registration period: 17-30 March

• Missing the deadline due to ignorance is not acceptable.

Phase 2: ITP in Company

• Day 1: student is highly advised to start ITP on 3 March 2014.

• Student may start early or late, but the ITP period of 12 weeks MUST be followed.

Phase 2: Information Update• Week 1-3 (3 Mar - 23 Mar 2014):

student logins to ITP webpage to update the company information, example: supervisor name and contact.

• If new ITP location is different from the offer letter, student must update the address of the new location.

Phase 2: Information Update

• If student has limited Internet access during ITP, student can ask friends to update. Do not lose contact with friends or isolate oneself during ITP. Keep in touch with ITP and MMU matters.

Phase 2: Lecturer Visit

• Week 5-9 (1 Apr – 30 Apr 2014): ITP visit by lecturer.

Announcement will be made in bulletin board or ITP webpage. Visiting lecturer and student will discuss about the date and time of visit.

Phase 2: Lecturer Visit

• FET student may be visited by FOE lecturer, and vice versa.

Phase 2: Lecturer Visit• If student does not hear from

visiting lecturer by Week 6, please contact:

Phase 2: Lecturer Visit

• Usually, student doing ITP in Malaysia will be ‘physically’ visited by lecturer (on-site visit). Student’s supervisor should also be present during the visit.

Phase 2: Lecturer Visit• Usually, student doing ITP

outside Malaysia will be ‘virtually’ visited by lecturer by conducting telephone interview or video conferencing with student and supervisor.

Phase 2: Lecturer Visit• During the physical visit, visiting

lecturer meets student and supervisor, asking about student performance, company environment, etc.

• Visiting lecturer also checks and signs the log book. Thus student must show the log book during lecturer visit.

Phase 2: Lecturer Visit• Lecturer may also request for a

tour around the student workplace and company, subject to the approval of the company.

Phase 2: End of ITP• 25 May 2014: last day.

• Student must get the signature of supervisor at several key locations in the log book.

• Company Assessment Form must also be collected from supervisor in a sealed envelope.

Phase 3: Back in FOE• 2-6 Jun 2014 (Week 1 of

Trimester 1, 2014/2015): student submits ITP report, log book and Company Assessment Form to the examiner (as announced in bulletin).

• 16-20 Jun 2014 (Week 3 of Trimester 1, 2014/2015): student does presentation in FOE.

Assessments• ITP is a ‘pass or fail’ subject (no

grade).

• After passing, student obtains FIVE credit hours , but is not counted in CGPA.

Assessments• To pass ITP, each component

below must pass separately:

1. Evaluation by visiting lecturer

2. Evaluation by employer

3. Student log book (evaluated by employer)

4. Student report (evaluated by lecturers)

5. Student Presentation in FOE (evaluated by lecturers)

• The email address provided in CV must be active (check regularly).

• Add ITP Chairpersons email ([email protected], [email protected]) to contact list so that student can receive email from them. Some emails may require urgent reply.

Short Advice, Note or Tip• Visit MMU Bulletin Board, ITP

webpage, and check email at least ONCE A DAY, during ITP.

• Student must not ISOLATE one self during ITP. Student should keep in touch with friends (for ITP announcements, social purpose, etc).

Pass all Exam subjects in Tri 2 so that there is no worry of Supp Exam during ITP.

Short Advice, Note or Tip

• If Supp is unavoidable, student must come back and take Supp, subject to the guides given by Exam Unit. Please notify the company and obtain their approval on this matter.

Short Advice, Note or Tip• Company can expel a student if

the student does not perform up to the expectation of the company. If so, the student may fail ITP.

• If student has limited Internet access during ITP, student must keep in touch with friends, or contact ITP Chairperson.

not getting the latest announcement.

• State your NAME, ID and MAJORING when sending email to ITP GL/AGL, or Chairperson.

Ans: You must apply for all travel documents by yourself. You must ensure that you have no problem entering and leaving the country, also leaving and entering Malaysia.

Ans: Yes, but you must get approval from the company. Also, ITP period must not overlap Exam week of Tri 2 2013/2014, or Week 1 of Tri 1 2014/2015. You cannot use ITP as an excuse for not able to attend classes in week 1.

Q: I am stuck overseas due to visa problem. Can I postpone log book and report submission?

Ans: Yes, but you must inform ITP Chairman as soon as possible, preferably before 31 May 2014. Please also inform the coordinators of the subjects you will take in Tri 1, to avoid being accused of attempting to skip class.

Q: Can I do more than 12 weeks of ITP?

Ans: Yes, but NOT ENCOURAGED. If the company insists, you must ensure that the extension period does not overlap Tri 1, 2014/2015.
