She has been very involved in fundraising events and often is the first to raise her auction paddle to bid for something. Her all-time favorite Seahawks moment is when they won Super Bowl 48. She enjoys a good Seahawks themed tailgate party. Angie works for a major international glass manufacturer in Seattle. She is a hard working mother and grandmother devoted to family gatherings and creating memories for those she loves. Also, Angie can always find time to help a good cause. This month’s Member Spotlight goes to

Angie Deren

Angie Deren is a lifelong Seahawks fan and became involved with the Sea Hawkers Booster Club 8 years ago.

Angie is our Relay for Life Power Walker because over the last three years she has walked 25, 32 and 35 miles respectively. She plans on breaking her 35 mile record this year. So when you are out there on the track, walk a lap or two with her, she'll enjoy the company and it will help the miles pass by faster. July 4th BBQ at Syl’s House

Trivia Question

On what college campus did the Seahawks first hold training camp?

MEMBERSHIP DRIVE We are currently competing in a membership drive against all other chapters. The chapter that pulls in the most new members in the month of June will get an autographed football. We need ALL our members to talk to friends, family, co-workers, the store clerk…you get my drift. If we all encouraged just one person to become a South Sound Sea Hawker member….we could easily win that football. So come on fellow members, LET’S DO THIS! Commit to bringing in at least ONE person. With all the Hawks fans out there it shouldn’t be hard. Feel free to forward them this newsletter. They can simply click on this link to become the next South Sound Sea Hawker

member. Sign Up Here!

We currently have a total of members: 226

Once again Syl is having a BBQ for Sea Hawker members, family and friends. Here’s the lowdown:

Date: July 4, 2016 Address: 734 Berg CT NW Gig Harbor, WA 98335

Time: 4pm – after fireworks Potluck style, grill will be hot and ready, bring whatever

you want for yourself and/or to share. It always seems to work out just fine.

FYI – Parking is limited so just park along the road near the boat launch and walk to the house. If you absolutely need to park close I do have enough space for about 6 cars.

And a GREAT time was had by all…. Sea Hawkers Annual Banquet

183 were in attendance at this year’s banquet. What can I say, other than you missed an awesome evening if you weren’t there. Walter Jones was in the house, graciously signing and taking pictures with

everyone and spent some time up on the stage. Blitz, the Sea Gals and Blue Thunder kept the excitement going and Gee Scott, our MC for the

night, was beyond amazing. We had several rookies present signing autographs and taking pictures. We laughed and we cried. We had a color guard presentation and Kat Shepp shared an amazing story with

us. WOW, what an incredible evening we all had.

Huge kudos to Central Council for a job WELL done!

Annual Relay for Life Car & Bike Show

Well, once again we have pulled off a successful Car & Bike show. Thank you to Dave and Pam Foss. The two of you continue to work hard and it shows. Also thanks to everyone who came out and worked to make this fundraising event so successful, it was an amazing team effort that raised more than $2300! Thanks must also be given to Rolf's and Griot's Garage for donating goodies to help raise money! And a big THANKS to Titus-Will for sponsoring the event! If you happen to find yourself at any of these businesses, please mention to them how much we appreciate their support in helping us make the show a success! (We are sending thank you cards but letting them know if you happen to go there is always a good thing)

We made a few changes in how we hand out awards and the changes were well received. 12 awards were handed out and a lot of drawings items went to very excited winners. Thank you to all of those that once again came out and volunteered this year. We couldn’t have done it without you.
