Research -Radio

ITV• I could secure an advertising campaign with ITV

• They offer companies the chance to advertise on a

variety of their TV stations costing between £2,000 and

£1m

• In reality I would need to fully investigate how much it

would cost to do this as I need to assess whether it is

worth the cost

• A drawback of doing this is only being available to

advertise to the West Midlands

Page 3: ITV AND RADIO

Response to Article• The article has made me realise that I cannot

advertise to a region that isn't in Leicestershire

as

• Not only would they not have access to the

magazine in order to buy,

• But they also wouldn't want to know about

Leicestershire and

• They would want to know about their region.

The Midlands

Page 5: ITV AND RADIO

Although…• The audience of the West Midlands are close to the East

Midlands

• I could potentially advertise in the West Midlands in hope

that they see what the East Midlands has to offer

• They could buy the magazine as a guide to the East

Midlands which would make it more exciting for them as

they are able to see the direct rural areas and locations

of whether they could travel to.

• Also, there is an audience that travel to the East from the

West on a regular basis due to family and friends, etc.

To Conclude..• This would be a very small market that may not

be cost efficient

• But by minimising the budget for that area of

advertising, it could be profitable in the long term

as the advertising doesn’t need to be repeated

too often.

• In reality I would start some market research in

order to find out if it would be beneficial.

• The 80's playlist will attract my target

audience because this is the era of their

childhood and teenage years which means

that these songs will be well known by my

target audience and they will listen to

them.

I would focus on airing the adverts on all different media

platforms, for example Advertising that would be on a radio

station online could link to a advertising box for the magazine

on the radio station webpage. This means people listening to the

product that want to look into it further can click on the advert

and go straight to the Leicestershire Living website.

• Heart Breakfast from 6am will appeal to those who are

up early. Most of my audience get up early and start the

day taking their dogs out for a walk, etc.

• Conversations from 1-4pm would be appealing as its

content rather than music

• On multiple occasions this webpage says theirs a variety

of music on the show. This could be appealing as my

audience may get bored of one type of music due to their

sophistication

Presenters• These are the presenters on Heart that would most

appeal to my target audience

• This means that I would prefer to advertise during their

slots as it directly hits my TA

• Again, the 80’s music would appeal to the audience and

the other music would appeal to those who are up early.

• The ages of the presenters are around the same as my

TA as well which means that their mature voices would

attract the audience.
