  3. 3. RLST 220 Buddhism 2 sections Explores the history, teachings, and practices of the main schools of Buddhism. Considers the tradition both as it has developed in Asia as well as its modifications as it has been introduced into Western societies.
  4. 4. ARHI 224 Introduction to Asian Art TTh 12:30-1:45 Surveys a selection of art and architectural forms from China, Japan, India, Korea, and Southeast Asia. Students are introduced to religious and secular sculpture, painting, and ceramics, as well as the philosophical, political, and social forces that prompted their creation.
  5. 5. PLSC 383 W01 Political Systems-Asia MWF 01:25-02:15 An intensive, comparative study of the government and politics of Asia
  6. 6. ARTHI 424 Art of India and Southeast Asia TR 12:30pm-01:45pm Analyzes the arts of India and Southeast Asia, past and present. Examines representative examples from major periods, emphasizing the cultural, political, and/or religious context of the work.
  7. 7. HIST 433 Bandits and Poets: The Cultural and Social History of Early Modern China MWF 1:25-2:15 China in the Ming and Qing, the age all the Kung-fu movies are set in. Rebellions, eunuchs, poets and concubines, as well as scholars, hermits and salt smugglers.
