INDUSTRIAL VISIT REPORT
The department of electrical and electronic engineering ,Ammini college of
engineering Palakkad, organized a one day long industrial visit to KEL-Kerala Electrical
And Allied Engineering Co Limited on 13th march 2015 for Btech EEE students.
Visit was organized as per the Calicut university guidelines and recommendation regarding
the syllabus of Btech Electrical and Electronics engineering branch.Visit was organized by
the prior permission and guideness of Honourable Principal Dr.PR Chandrasekhar,by the
initiative of our HOD Miss Suchithra.
13th March Friday
Journey to KEL
42 members accompanied by 2 faculty members started the journey from college at
9:30am.At 10:30am we reached KEL.
They first give an introduction about the project and services

Kel is one among the largest , most vibrant and productive public sector undertaking, and is
fully owned by the Government of kerala.A multi project engineering company ,consistently
catering to an envious client base, ranging from the army and the airforce of india to the
world-renowned space research organisations,highly competent engineering companies to
mammoth institutions like Indian Railways.
The company with four state-of-the-art manufacturing units spread across kerala has a pan
india presence with marketing offices in major metros and selected cities.
Some of their prestigious projects undertaken for various defence establishments are
i. Falcon missile project
ii. Thrisul missile project
iii. Prthvi missile project
iv. Pinaka project
v. Akash missile system
vi. Millitary power car
vii. Battery chargers
viii. Radar application
The kel was established in 1964 in the state ofkeralaIndia.The company is engaged in the
production of electrical equipment and machinery,in the areas such as generation,
transmission, distribution and utilization of electrical power. Kel has 5 manufacturing units
located in various district of the states Kollam,Palakkad,Ernakulam,Kasargod and
Malappuram.
The olovokod division established in 1956.earlier times it was an very busy project.so
many electrical equipments were manufactured under this division.But nowadays there is
only the manufacturing of transformer windings.But it was an very informative section
about the transformer windings and the materials using for the making.
At 2:30pm we return to college and had lunch on the way to college.At 3:30pm we reached
college after a much informative and wonderful visit.

We the students of Btech Electrical and Electronics engineering branch are
thankful to our Honourable Principal Dr.PR Chandrasekhar sir for his kind support and
cooperation and allowing us one day industrial visit.He has been a source of inspiration
and always encouraged us to learn new things.We are thankful to our Head of Department
for her guideness and support in making the visit a grand success.We are thankful to visit
coordinators Prof.Shyamala and Prof.Sreelakshmi for their continuous effort through out
the visit.
We hope that this visit will help us in our future practical life and bring a
positive change in our thinking and practical behaviour regarding education and specially
engineering.
