Speakers Introduction

The construction industry is a vibrant and a life line to a nation’s economy. The modern migration to the urban living and scarcity of land has mitigated the greater necessity for the building to go skyward. The pride among nations to have iconic buildings intensify the rivalry for the building to go higher and higher. The competition never ends.

The professional are braced with incessant challenges on the building design, especially on the concepts of “Going Green” as well as for the creative innovations, to circumvent the prescriptive building design. The building has to meet not only on various aspect of safety, but to be functional of its operational motivation as well.

This seminar has the privilege of inviting the designer for the world tallest tower in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia to share with us on the various salient aspects of fire and safety considerations.

In recent years, Malaysia has taken cognizant of the carbon emissions and the onset of climatic change. The Government agency such as SEDA was established to encourage and promote Renewable Green Energy for the commercial and domestic household to install Photovoltaic solar panel to generate electricity. It is timely therefore in this seminar to highlight the fire safety consideration for the Photovoltaic Panels.

Plans submission to the authority may appear to be simple and elementary; however countless of complaints has been received regarding the processing of plans; much misconception has hence forth surfaced by the industry towards the authority. This seminar will engage the help of a senior Bomba officer to enlighten the participants, clarify the myth and the pitfalls encountered by the industry.

The building industry has gone through a rapid advancement in Malaysia; therefore changes are necessary to the building by law to reflect the needs of the present day. The UBBL 1984 has been revised after much consultation with the professional bodies. The UBBL (Selangor) 2012 has been adopted by the state of Selangor and is now ready for implementation.
