Introduction and Back ground:• •Jack Neift Trucking was a family-owned

company, founded in1937. Jack Neift, had started a trucking company with one truck and one client. With the passage of time number of trucks increased to five hundred. The company control remained within the family generation after generation down to its present president , Bea Stove Burdon. The company mostly serviced states east of the Mississippi but also had corridors into Texas and Oklahoma. The major portion of the company’s Income is generated from the routes of New York City. The company had seen weak financial times but because of its ability it remained one of the best companies in the United States.

Business Description…

• The company has seen both strong and weak financial times, but because of its ability to adapt quickly to marketing condition, it remained one of the strongest family-owned company in U.S. The company was medium-sized, averaging just over 500 trailer units.

Key problem and Issue…• Company was facing a problem i.e.

Deadheading. This is the common term used in the trucking industry. Deadheading means operating a vehicle or vessel without a load of cargo. Term mostly used in trucking company and refers either the return trip from delivery a cargo or driving empty to a location in order to pickup cargo. It is considered as a waste of resources and avoided whenever possible. Information and communication system was not good. Latest Technology (gadget) was required to remove the problem.

• Providing the latest IT Network system that helps the Company to get up to date information and conversations and to improve their profits and better relations with their customers.

Success Criteria..• Web Base secured system is installed

which updates information in real time and without any delay.

• Executives and Sales force all over regions and time zones will have access to real time information to make sales.

• Input through laptops would be posted on server that can either push information down the line or store it.

• All departments including sales, operations will get the information in real time.

• Information is reintegrated into salary and compensation structure, tracked by president, over secure web site GPS system Provides information about loads for the company.
