From ABOVE The Shower Floor
1. Remove existing shower drain and replace drain pipe as needed. Pipe should terminate just below the underside of the shower module fl oor. Clean the shower module fl oor where the old drain was, removing old putty, silicone, debris, etc.
2. Unscrew and remove locknut, pressure plate washer, friction washer and sealing washer, remove strainer and internal wrench (black plastic) from drain.
3. Loosen compression nut if necessary, and apply a bead of silicone or apply plumber’s putty around the underside of drain body fl ange as shown or use our No-Putty Gasket (290-20320). Push the drain body over the pipe, taking care not to wrinkle or damage the compression gasket, until the drain is pressed fi rmly down against the shower module fl oor.
4. Tighten compression nut with plastic wrench provided. Remove the plastic wrench and keep it for future use.
From BELOW The Shower Floor
5. Thread jacking bolts so that ¼″ is exposed above the locknut.
6. Place sealing washer, then friction washer, then pressure plate washer (with fl at surface up), in that order, up over the threaded drain body. Be sure there are no obstructions, and that the sealing washer makes clean, even contact with the bottom of the shower module fl oor. Engage the locknut and hand tighten up against washer stack.
7. Tighten jacking bolts in order shown, getting tighter each time through the sequence until each bolt is completely tightened. Clean off any residual silicone from the shower module fl oor.
8. Check for leaks after silicone has dried (No-Putty Gasket can be tested immediately after installation). Turn water on in shower, and from below shower fl oor, check the drain area for leaks concentrating on the area between pipe and compressiongasket [A] and between shower module fl oor and sealing washer [B].If a leak occurs in area A, use the black plastic wrench (from step 4) to tighten the compression nut. If a leak occurs in area B, tighten jacking bolts using the same method described in step 7.
9. When the installation is complete, remove the adhesive cover from the strainer and install in to drain.
Ensure clean, even contact
