right around the corner and will be here before we know it. This is an exciting, yet hectic time of year for students,

staff and parents. Below, you will find some suggestions that will help us all navigate through this final stretch and

make graduation evening night to be remembered!

Students: Don’t let senioritis endanger your final quarter.

Attend classes daily, complete and turn in all assignments

Check your grades frequently

Communicate with your teachers!

Parents:

Read all correspondence from the school – we send out a lot of information this time of year!

Senior Deficiency Letters

Graduation ceremony and rehearsal information

Senior recognition events

Check your child’s grades through the Parent/Student Portal regularly. If you do not have access to your stu-

dent’s portal, please contact our attendance department and they will help you set up access.

Communicate with your child’s teachers if you have questions or concerns

If your child is enrolled in a MDLP online class, check his/her progress and make sure she or he is completing

the class. Students who are taking classes through MDLP must complete those classes PRIOR to the end of

the semester, so pay attention to those due dates!

Graduation Rehearsal – Thursday, May 26 @ 6:30 AM. Students MUST be in attendance at graduation re-

hearsal if they want to participate in the graduation ceremony that evening!

Air horns, fireworks, cow bells, and all other noisemakers are also prohibited so that ALL parents and family

members may enjoy the ceremony and experience the sound of their child’s name being read.

AVID College and Disney Leadership Trip

Before spring break 48 students and 6 chaperones embarked on an adventure to California. The trip also included 27 students and 3 chaperones from Dobson High School. The students attended college tours, including Concordia Col-lege and Cal State Long Beach. At each college the students learned of the opportunities they could have at each col-lege and the plethora of degree opportunities. They also learned the benefits of both small and large colleges, along with out of state schools. On day two of the AVID trip the students participated in an amazing leadership program developed by Disney imagi-neers and other cast members. The students learned to come out of their comfort zones when they were asked to go up to people they did not know to ask them questions, such as: “What makes a good leader?” and “If you had the chance to go anywhere in the world where would you want to go?” Students also explored what they want to do in the future and how to make goals for the future by participating in several activities with the tour guides at Disney.

Yearbooks! The 2016 yearbooks will be distributed to all students

who pre-ordered and who don’t carry a bookstore or

library debt on Thursday, May 12th in the small gym.

At this time, we are no longer taking pre-orders.

Students who still wish to purchase a yearbook will

be able to purchase one starting on Friday, May

13th in the bookstore for $89. This once in a lifetime

keepsake will be over 225 pages of full color and

include moving pictures through a program called

Aurasma. Start saving now and purchase your copy

on May 13th

Attention Students and Parents,

Especially Seniors!
