Jätkänkämppä (Lumberjack Lodge)

Jätkänkämppä, an authentic lumberjack lodge from the 1950s, is the pride of Rauhalahti. Built of hand-hewn logs, the lodge used to function as a lumberjacks’ base in the district of Nurmes in eastern Finland. Popular special-occasion restaurant. (conferences, family functions, Christmas parties, weddings and corporate entertainment) Available for privet booking up to 150 persons.

  Smoke sauna

The world’s biggest smoke sauna is situated in the grounds of the Jätkänkämppä Lumberjack Lodge. Up to 70 persons at a time can enjoy its gentle heat.

In winter on Tuesdays and in summer on Tuesdays and Thursdays the Traditional Evening is offered to everyone, while at other times it is arranged for groups by appointment.

Santa Claus´ Home

Offers a warm Christmas atmosphere.

You can meet Santa Claus on Christmas Eve 24 December, and 30 December to 9 January at his home in Rauhalahti.

Activities for visitors: games, crafts, singing and playing. Inside the lodge there is also a Christmas shop, bar and café services, small snacks, soup and flame-grilled salmon. Outside there is a bar by a bonfire, Christmas performances, riding for children and horse-sleigh rides.
