JAI & LORENZOMAY 28, 2017

Their Love Story...

The proposal...

Lorenzo and I had only been dating for six months prior to our engagement. My birthday was coming up and he suggested we do something "special" for it. We decided upon a trip to Costa Rica, but he added the idea of allowing our immediate family to join. I thought it was a fun suggestion and happily obliged. Both of our mothers, my daughter, and his brothers arrived with Lorenzo and I into Costa Rica on March 16, 2016, the day before my birthday on the 17th.  We settled into our gorgeous vacation home and set out on excursions. On the day of my birthday Lorenzo and I got pedicures and messages on the beautiful beach near sunset. We decided to make dinner as a family that evening and our mothers baked me a birthday cake. It was the perfect evening. We ate dinner and before cake as our dessert, each family member shared a special wish or prayer for me for the upcoming year. Lorenzo went last. He told me about how proud he was of me, my passion and ambition to make the decision of going to law school at this time in my life, while being an amazing mother and companion to him. As tears began to wale in my eyes, he dropped to one knee and asked me if I would give him the honor of having me as his wife. The emotions captivated me so that I was temporarily paralyzed. I froze, forgetting he was on one knew on a hard, marble floor (LOL). He called my name to bring me back to the moment, and my reply was, "Yes, yes of course. Thank you. I love you so much!" Quite a mouth full, but those were my genuine thoughts. Lorenzo asked me to marry him on one of the most special days of my life, my birthday, March 17, 2016.
