Genre Characteristics

• Rihanna –Man Down is a mainstream pop song, which is rihanna’s genre type.

• She has a performance of location of her home country/town which implies it could be linked to a truthful story about hr past. Also whenever she is reflecting, she is perked on the edge of her bed, where most personal matters occur and where you can be at peace.

Visuals and Lyrics

• Lyrics refer to the video on occasions such as during the chorus.

• During the flashback scenes, the lyrics do not match up to the visuals as she is seen to be happy around others but she is singing about a ‘Sticky situation’ which does not fit.

• But towards the end of the video, the last scenes reflect lyrics and the mood of the song.
