    From the Governor:

    Hi Lisa -

This is extremely late in coming - but I wanted to THANK YOU and the Cowlitz Country

Altrusans for a very enjoyable visitation in November.

The day after our visitation, I ended up in the hospital and have been out of commissionalmost totally since then! But

Im on the mend and trying to catch up -

I was so impressed with all of your projects! They are unique and fantastic! Your members involvement in the

community through your projects is an absolute show stopper! Hopefully, other clubs in our district will take

a look at Cowlitz Altrusans and see what is possible - if they just dream and work together towards a common

    goal!

You are an example of an excellent Altrusa Club which the world

could look at and be thankful you are one of us!

Again, thank you for a great meeting - and yes for the owers

    and the stationary also!

    Julie Hysmith

Governor of District Twelve, Altrusa International Inc.

And a Merry Christmas Was Had By All!

Winona...Always thinking outside the giftbox, was at it again. On December

16th, members arrived in their most festive outts, bearing wrapped gifts of

silly socks for the sock exchange. Joyce won the most festive outt. (See top

    left photo on next page)

As you can see, it was tasty breakfast, hearty laughs, and fun prizes - an over-

    all positive holiday experience.

    FUNDRAISERS:

    ?

    Mystery Bruncher

    Who is it?

    What you may not know:

She likes to garden, garden, decorate

    and garden.

She lived in Longview almost her entire life - big

move was to Kelso for six months but

she hated writing the word Kelso on

her address (still scarred by the big

    Longview vs Kelso football games

    back in the 70s. )

Shes been married to the same guy for over 35

    years.

What youd nd hard to believe:

Shes so hard up for thinking of something thats

unique about herself that she describes herself as

plain old vanilla avored with no sprinkles or

    cherry on top.

    Need more hints?

    Heres what you probably know:

She raised two sons who she describes as funny,

responsible, and in possession of actual work ethics

    (Shes not proud is she?)

She was a realtor at one time, and she likes bees.

For the last two years she has worked for Bank of

America as a Mortgage Coordinator. She takes the

clients from application to the funding of their new

home or renance of their present home.

    OK Give up?

Shes the member most likely to be seen wearing a

    bee costume in public.

Now, if you still dont know who it is, you really

need to come to more meetings.

    year and this year its

    Wednesday, March 17th.

Members will be signing up for committees such as

publicity, prizes, dcor/sound, and word list (Debbie &

Darlene may already have the word list covered).

Sandy has sent out the Save-the-date email to last

years team captains. Robbie agreed to contact KLTV

again this year to lm the event. Betty added shed like

to operate the ticket booth again this year. The group

is looking at possibilities for an emcee and the judging
