(1+ nights)*First quarter (Q1) overnight visitation forinternational visitors was  25% lower(-1,300 people) than the same period in2019. 

The month of March saw a decrease  of39% in overnight visitation compared tothe 5-year average (2015-2019). 

Q1 overnight visitation was 22%lower than the 5-year average.

Q1  air arrivals have fallen  by 49% or22,000 fewer  passengers compared to2019. 

Over the last 5 years, air arrivals havefallen  by 36% or 13,400 fewerpassengers compared to 2016. 

First quarter performance was 39%lower than the 5-year average (2015 to2019).

Q1 occupancy was 6.3 points lower thanthe same period in 2019. 

In the first three months of 2020, Yukon'soccupancy rates were  0.3  pointslower than national rate (46.9%).

International border crossings(into Yukon)

Q1  border crossings were 36%lower than in 2019.

In the first three  months of 2020,crossings through Canadian BorderServices Agency ports of entry were31% lower  than the 5-year average(2015-2019).   

Q1 same day border crossings were 31%lower than in 2019. 

Same day border crossings in the firstquarter of 2020 were 32% lower  thanthe first quarter 5-year average. 

Same day international bordercrossings (into Yukon)*

Q1 retail sales were up 7%($12.4 million) over 2018.

Q1 retail sales were  up 16% comparedto the 5-year average (2015-2019).

National retail sales decreased 1% in thefirst three months of 2020.
