January 22nd 2015 Jan./Feb. Newsleer ECHS Happenings: ECHS Student Dual Enrollment Meeting: ECHS students met with ECHS staff on Wed. Jan 14, 2015 and were informed of the expectations for their classes, course offerings , location and checking out of college books. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ECHS Parent Dual Enrollment Meeting: ECHS Parents met with ECHS Director on Tuesday, Jan 20, 2015 at 5:30pm in the South Building Cafeteria. Parents were informed of the expectations for their child’s classes, course offerings , location and checking out of college books. The District’s commitment to the program and student success was also discussed. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ECHS Student Issued College Books: ECHS students were able to check out the required dual enrollment for their college classes saving parents an upwards amount of $26,000.00. Students will be responsible for the books but, do not have to bear the cost and expense of purchasing the books. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Early College Dual Enrollment Sections For Spring 2015 ECHS Students began to participate in an Arts 1301 (Art Appreciation) and a COSC 1301 (computer science) course on Jan 20th. Classes will be held Monday through Thursday in the south building starting at 3:05 pm. STC professors will be delivering instruction. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ECHS 2015-2016 recruitment: On Jan 26th ECHS staff will visit Truan JH to begin the recruitment process for the 2015-2016 ECHS Cohort. 8th grade students will be able to speak to the ECHS Director or Counselor in regards to applying . This edition’s Jacket Spotlight shines on ECHS Biology teacher Mrs. Rodriguez. Mrs. Rodriguez strives to maintain a sense of integrity in all of her lesson deliveries and character building of all of her students. Mrs. Rodriguez is always looking to grow professionally and tries to find ways to better serve her students. She goes above and beyond in all that she does. Great job!!!
