3. What size bin is the sack required to fit?Fit the refuse sack to the size of your bin. If the sack is too small, waste will spill out of the sack and into the bin. If the sack is too large, there will be overhanging sack outside the bin. Use the following two calculations to ensure you buy the right size sack. To calculate the correct circumference:Measure across the rim of your bin and compare to the depth (D) and width (W) of the refuse sacks in this catalogue. To calculate the correct height:Measure the height (h) of your bin and then add an additional seven inches of overhang for tying.

Mop head & handle guideConnecting your mop head to the handle is easy, but if done incorrectly will result in the mop head disconnecting when you are mopping.

Colour-coded cleaning systemThe aim of a janitorial colour-coding system is to prevent cross-contamination during the cleaning process. If a single mop was used to clean every floor in a restaurant bacteria could spread from the washrooms and front of house to food preparation areas. This carries risk of cross-contamination and consequently illness. applying a colour-coded system to separate areas is the most efficient and effective way of reducing the risk of cross-contamination.

For this system to work, you will need to assign a different colour mop to each area, with a matching colour-coded handle, head and bucket to make it easily identifiable. This hygienic cleaning system can be applied to any cleaning equipment that is used in each area, such as cloths, brooms and gloves.

In the late 1990s, The British Institute of Cleaning Science (BICSc) first began to develop a universal colour code. For conforming to inspections by the Environmental Health Officer (EHO), the use of colour-coded cleaning equipment is particularly useful and has been widely adopted by the catering industry.

To connect push mops:Place the handle into the slot on the mop head and push down firmly to ensure the handle is secure.

To disconnect your push mop head:Keep the mop head on the floor and secure with your feet. Carefully pull the handle out of the slot.
