The Center for Christian Education

(CCE) in Martin, Slovakia has plans to

renovate a recently acquired Dining Hall. This space will

provide an onsite lunchroom for the kids, and possibili-

ties for meal preparation for other school events or even

community events. I have been passionately involved

with the renovation of classrooms for the school kids

in Martin for the past 7 years. My connection to Vision

Slovakia has immensely impacted my life. The CHRIS-

TIAN friendships I have in Slovakia will never be broken.

SOMEONE ELSE IN MY LIFE HAS MADE A LASTING IMPACT, TOO.

My Mom, Jane, who passed away May 2010 taught

me much about life, including having the confidence

to try just about anything, God and faith. Trained as

a teacher, Mom understood the importance of good

nutrition to one’s body for the ability to learn. Mom

would say, “How do you expect to think without fuel for

your brain?’ I can’t think of a better place for a memo-

rial to my Mom - “a place where kids are nourished to

learn.” A place that is safe, efficient,

and filled with love’s aroma. In honor of

my Mom, I wish to jumpstart the fund-

ing for the renovation of the CCE Din-

ing Hall with a 2 plus 1 matching fund.

For every $2 you contribute, I will contribute a $1 up

to $10,000. We’re calling this “Janka’s Kitchen” Special

Appeal. (Janka (pronouced Yan-ka) is Slovak for ‘Jane’.)

With your $20,000 and the $10,000 matching gift, the CCE

will have a $30,000 start towards the Dining Hall renova-
