HFBC scholarships All completed applications online application must be submitted by 4 p.m. on Friday, January 12. This is the week we come back from Christmas Break, so get started on the application ASAP.

The link to the application website with complete eligibility requirements is available on Heritage Fund's website, heritagefundbc.org, and I am also providing it here: https://hfbcscholarships.communityforce.com/Login.aspx.

A few reminders:

If students applied for the Lilly Scholarship, they must still complete any new applications. Because they are separate application forms, information does not transfer. Lilly applicants do not, however, need to request a new transcript or complete a new College Cost Estimator. For these sections of applications, they must still click the Confirm button.

Students often question why there are only a handful of scholarships listed on the application website when we have dozens on our website. They are referring to the application website listing, which is a listing of applications. They will use the COMBINED Application to apply for the majority of our scholarships.

The basic components of the Combined Application include a transcript, financial Estimator, essay and the Request items of guidance information and one letter of recommendation. Students will self-select for which scholarships they are eligible between the Scholarship Selection and Scholarship Selection -- Additional Requirement sections of the Combined Application. If they choose Yes for any scholarships that have an additional requirement, their application will reflect this. For example, if a scholarship requires an additional essay, the essay box will appear under the Yes/No of that scholarship's listing. Some scholarships require an additional letter of rec or an electronic signature verifying participation of some sort. If a student chooses Yes for any scholarships requiring an additional Request item, they will appear in the Request section listing to be filled out.

As with the Lilly application, students should be reminded Requested information must be completed and submitted by the deadline or applications will not be considered complete. Students should be aware that only requesting the information will not make their application eligible -- these requests must also be completed and SUBMITTED by the deadline by the individuals from whom they have requested it.

High school seniors often, and some have already, submit the Combined Medical School Scholarship Application. They should be aware that these scholarships are for entering/current medical school students, and as undergrads, they are not yet eligible.

- Lilly applicants DO NOT need to request another transcript or complete a new College Cost Estimator. They just need to click Confirm in each of these sections on all other HFBC scholarship applications they're submitting.
