CORROSION PROTECTION
Every Rhino Water Tank installed uses Sacrificial Magnesium Anodes that are engineered to AS 2239 alloy M3 analysis & performance standard. The Zinc or Colorbond coating on any steel gives some cathodic protection; however, this protection is limited. The use of Sacrificial Anodes becomes the first defence against corrosion and the outer coating on the wall sheets becomes the second defence. Correct installation and our regular 5 year maintenance program is therefore imperative to maximise your tank longevity and design life.
Domestic UpgradeThis optional upgrade consists of 3 popular items:
• Dust and Vermin Proofing
• Water Level Gauge
• Fire Fighting Coupling (Specific to your area)
Other Optional ExtrasThere are numerous other optional extras that can be fitted to your Rhino Water Tank. If you have a request not shown below please contact your nearest sales office for further information about the option you require.
• Larger Outlets/Inlets
• Roof Fascia
• Rain Savers -to capture the rain runoff from the tank roof AND keep the tank vermin proofed
A range of Water Level Indicators and hold down brackets and Geotech matting (for tanks installed on concrete pads) are also available.

Manufacturing to Australian StandardsAll components of Rhino Water Tanks comply with and surpass all applicable Australian and Industry Standards. The design of all Rhino Water Tanks is certified by the renowned Van Der Meer engineering consultants.
All Rhino Water Tanks are made from genuine Bluescope® COLORBOND® or Zincalume steel with a corrugated profile, which provides incredible wall strength and durability.
The wall structure is composed of 0.6 mm corrugated Blue-Orb sheeting that is rolled and curved by our custom made roll-forming equipment.
Rhino Water Tanks sources and supplies 0.42 high tensile corrugated Custom-Orb sheeting used in the roof of all tanks.
The Rhino Tank’s roof truss system uses Square Hollow Section top cord with structural angle components to complement a tank designed for all climatic conditions, certified design is in accordance with AS 4100 (Steel Structures) and AS/NZS 4600 (Cold Formed Steel Structures).
All welding and other manufacturing involved in the production of Rhino Tanks are in accordance with AS/NZS 1554:2008 (Structural Steel Welding).

Reinforced Food Grade Tank Liner - Hydrashield 1000All our tank liners are made in our own Rhino Tanks manufacturing factory and have been for over 20 years. Our qualified liner fabricators use the latest welding techniques and state of the art machinery to produce liners of the highest quality.
Hydrashield 1000 is the latest technological advancement in liner fabrics on the world market and is exclusive to Rhino Water Tanks. Hydrashield 1000 has a state of the art food grade, UV treated, multi layered film called Metallocene, laminated to the existing reinforced polyethylene liner giving extra layers of strength and durability. This gives Hydrashield 1000 a service life of over 60 years.
The development of this new commercial strength liner once again demonstrates Rhino’s commitment to consistently improve our product and reinforces our status as one of the world’s leading manufacturers of tank liners.
Hydrashield 1000 has passed water potable testing at the Australian Water Quality Centre
AS/NZS 4020:4020 and ANSI/NSF – 61 and has been tested for:
a) Taste of water extract
b) Appearance of water extract
c) Growth of aquatic organisms
d) Cytotoxic activity water extract
e) Mutagenic activity water extract
2nd and 3rd Layers – 2 layers of Food Grade Polyethylene.

Our superior Hydrashield 1000 reinforced tank liners are fabricated by Rhino’s highly qualified liner fabricators using the latest welding techniques and machinery.
The Metallocene tape welded seam provides an extra seal and prevents bacterial growth under the lap seam.
The sections of liner are joined using a heat welding process with a 50mm overlap.

RHINO WATER TANKS
STANDARD CORRUGATED WATER TANK CATALOGUE JANUARY 2010
Pad PreparationIt is the customer’s responsibility to prepare a level pad of sand or crusher dust. The pad needs to be 150mm deep at the specified diameter.
Rhino Water Tanks provides detailed pad specifications to all customers to assist them in achieving an excellent quality pad. In some areas Rhino can recommend contractors who have previously prepared quality pads for our tanks.
In some circumstances, your tank may need to be installed on a concrete ring beam instead of sand or crusher dust. If your tank is to have an outlet larger than 150mm or if it is higher than the standard height of 2.2m then it is a requirement for a concrete ring beam to be provided. Rhino will provide the customer with all relevant specifications for these concrete ring beams upon request.
Blue Metal/Coarse AggregateOnce the tank has been installed the customer is required to place an exclusion zone of a minimum of 10mm Blue Metal/coarse aggregate (no clay or concrete) around the base of the tank after installation to prevent erosion and deter rodents from digging around the base.
The blue metal exclusion zone must be maintained on a regular basis to protect the integrity of the underlying pad and consequently, the tank structure. Failure to maintain the exclusion zone may adversely affect the tank warranty.
Water SupplyIt is also the customer’s responsibility to provide a water supply for the tank (at least 10% of the total capacity) upon completion. When the liner is installed into the tank this water is essential to ensure the liner placement is secured by the weight of the water and thereby preventing damage caused through movement.

Installation Rhino Water Tanks has a network of specially trained tank installers across Australia. Our installers focus on quality and excellent service to ensure the entire experience is rewarding and care-free.
All Rhino tanks are transported to site in flat pack form by the installer who will then assemble the tank. This allows us to position the fittings to the customer’s individual requirements and gives us the ability to install tanks on sites with reduced accessibility.
Strength is a feature of our installation, using 250mm overlap and 200mm double bolt spacing.
MaintenanceEvery 5 years for the life of the warranty, a Rhino Tanks’ service agent will arrange an inspection of your tank and replacement of the Sacrificial Magnesium Anodes buried around the tank base. This will ensure the corrosion protection system for the tank is maintained and effective.
WarrantyRhino Water Tanks provide a 20 year conditional warranty on the standard range of water storage tanks. This warranty will cover everything from the structure of the tank to the liner and fittings installed by Rhino. ‘Retrofitting’ or fittings installed by anyone other than an authorised representative of Rhino Water Tanks may adversely affect your warranty.
Fire ProtectionRhino Water Tanks provide a number of alternatives to suit your Fire Protection needs whether it be simply adding an extra fire coupling on one of your outlets during a standard Rhino Tank installation, a designated water tank specifically for protecting your residence in a fire prone area, or a commercial fire tank.
Rhino has also developed a specific Fire Protection tank called the Rhino Safeguard. The Rhino Safeguard has a 3 stage dual skin insulated protection system, the outlets plumbed underground to a galvanized box and a roof mounted sprinkler system.
For more information about the Rhino Safeguard or any other fire protection options call 1800 632 410.

Rhino Tanks specialise in installing tanks at sporting fields and golf courses where large quantities of water storage is required for irrigation of ovals. This photo is of 4 x 260,000 Litre tanks to store water for 7 sporting fields in Queensland. Rhino has also installed numerous tanks at golf courses as part of minor desalination systems.
MULTIPLE TANKS FOR MASS STORAGE
When mass water storage is required but space is not an issue, then Rhino Tanks are ideal. This photo shows what can be achieved using multiple tanks to store harvested rainwater for re-use on the property. These tanks are on a property at New Norcia in WA where they store 4 Million Litres and re-use the water for dust suppression, fire fighting and general purpose.
