DEAR READERS AND ADVERTISERS

We do hope that you all had a very happy and joyous Christmas and spent some very valuable time with your loved ones. We here at The Village Advertiser believe in family values and we work with many family run businesses to help them to promote their business or service to you.

As we wave goodbye to 2012 we also take the opportunity to welcome 2013 and to announce how proud we are to have been invited to be the official sponsors of Hartley De Sales Under 14’s Football Team. They have got off to a tremendous start to the season winning all 5 league games. We will be following their progress throughout the football season and giving you updates of how they are doing along with their fixture dates and times (see page 6 for full details and team photo).

After such an overwhelming response to our December competition we can offer congratulations to our winner Valerie Wesley of West Kingsdown who won our annual Family Feast for Christmas courtesy of Kent Fresh Produce at Hawley Garden Centre who supplied all that was needed to feed a family with their Fresh Fruit and Vegetables, Longfield Butchers who supplied the Fresh Turkey and trimmings and us here at The Village Advertiser who supplied all the extras to make Christmas just that little bit special. We do hope they enjoyed the feast as much as we enjoyed putting it all together. Our additional Christmas draw to win four tickets to see the ‘Jack and the Beanstalk’ pantomime at The Woodville Halls, Gravesend was won by Sally Clisby of New Barn Oh no she didn’t! Oh yes she did! Have fun and enjoy.

Our January competition prize courtesy of us here at The Village Advertiser is just what the credit cards, bank accounts, purses and wallets ordered. We have a £50 gift card to spend at Bluewater Shopping Centre, Greenhithe at the sales or perhaps on a nice meal or even a trip or 2 to the cinema, the choice is yours. To enter our competition turn to page 10 and complete the wordsearch. There’s no need to cut anything out just write your answers along with your name, address, phone number and email address (if you have one) on a postcard or sealed envelope. The draw will take place on 14th January 2013 so get your entries in before that closing date. Entries received after will not be entered.

We have some fantastic offers for the New Year to help all new advertisers promote their business, service or event. We are here to help, listen and advise on the planning and layout of your advert and we do our upmost best to get the most from your advert. We can amend or change an advert as often as you like with no extra charges. With a circulation of over 19,000 magazines being delivered by our local experienced distribution team and numerous pickup points, there is no better time to get involved. If you would like to know more or just speak to us we are only on the end of a telephone. Our numbers are 01474 854518 and 01474 707484 or email us at [email protected]. Deadline for February edition is 14th January 2013. We sell out fast so don’t leave it to the last minute!

As we all attempt to return to normality we could think about making plans to get fitter for the New Year or just aim to shed those extra pounds. Perhaps it’s time to join a local Slimming World Group (back page) who have some fantastic offers, or you could give a Zumba class a try (Regency Dance Studios with Zena see the back page, Sevenoaks Zumba with Sheree see the front page or Zumba and other classes with Michelle see page 4). There are classes to suit all times and abilities. Or why not try Nordic Walking UK by Dynamic Nordic with Diane or Ann, suitable for all ages and abilities (see page 3). Or perhaps you could try a Boot Camp with Charlotte (see page 6). Or how about cycling at Kent’s New Multi Sports Activity Venue in Gravesend who are starting a new class for ladies only called Cyclofemme (back page) which gives you the opportunity to try cycling in a safe environment. There are also opportunities to give the health clubs and centres a try if you want more variety or just to please yourself as to when you want to exercise (Brands Hatch Place Health Club see page 5 and Meopham Fitness and Tennis Centre see page 11). All these opportunities gives you the sense of health and well being as well as the prospect of meeting up with other like minded people and to meet up with new/old friends. Whatever your needs or reasons there are plenty to choose from in the pages of our January magazine. Don’t forget to mention who recommended you!!!

Carole & Sally
