What is ? The Sahara West Library’s teen area is open during regular library hours and is designed for teens. The Teens@ Lab, located in the teen area, is open during select hours (see reverse). It is where we host our programs and have fully loaded personal computers, art supplies, crochet/sewing supplies, technology/games/puzzles, the Wii U and the Nintendo Switch—all for teens ages 12-17 only!
Program Descriptions ::Free and open to the public::
Meditation Mondays: Mondays (except 1/21) from 2:30-6:00 pm in the lab for ages 12-17. Mondays will be for “switching off.” No video gaming. Come in and use the art and sewing supplies. Draw or paint. Play a board game. Listen to music on the laptops. Use the 3D pens or create something for the 3D printer. There’s lots to do in the lab!
Teen Tuesdays: Tuesdays in the lab. Hang out with other teens. We’ll provide the board and video games, crafts, games, Hope & Success discussion, and snacks. Lab opens at 2:30, snacks 4:00-5:30, then we wrap up at 6:00. Ages 12-17.

Teens@ Photography-The Basics: Saturday, January 5 from 2:00-4:00 for ages 12-17
Take your photos to the next level. Learn how to take great photographs by one of our experienced staff
members. Cameras are provided, but teens are welcome to bring their own equipment.
Rainbow Scratch Art: Tuesday, January 8 at 3:00 pm for ages 12-17 Make your own design by scratching off black-coating to reveal rainbow colors beneath.
TAG (Teen Advisory Group) Meeting: Sunday, January 13 at 3:00 pm for ages 12-17 Join the Group: Stop by the lab and grab an application. Help make decisions on teen events and programming. Give back to the community while having fun. Looks great on a résumé!
Hope & Success Club Meeting: Tuesday, January 15 at 4:00 pm for ages 12-17 To kick off the year, we will discuss organization skills. Every attendee will receive a free 2019 planner book.
Sew Smart: Tuesday, January 22 from 3:00 to 5:30 pm for ages 12-17
Come in to learn hand-sewing techniques. We will work on a project using some tried and true stitches and
learn some fun new techniques. Registration is required. Call 702.507.3644 starting Dec. 22 to sign up.
Japanese for Beginners: Saturday, January 26 at 3:00 for ages 12-17 Come in and learn some basic Japanese vocabulary and phrases.
Glove Decorating: Tuesday, January 29 at 3:00 pm for ages 12-17 Using knit gloves and puffy paint, decorate your own personal set of wintry gloves.
Teen Book Club Meeting: Wednesday, January 30 at 4:30 for ages 12-17 in the teen@ area.
