The Christmas Party was a great time for catching up on how everyone’s Fall hunts went. The new venue (Seven Seas Restaurant) was well received. Great food, great service, great setting. Special thanks to all the people who made the party a success. As I contemplate the new year, I realize the exciting potential 2019 will have. First, finishing the Archery and Holiday Deer Hunts need to be a priority for everyone who enjoys the Wisconsin outdoors. Second, taking advantage of all the winter hunting Wisconsin offers. Next, final preparations for our 42nd Grand Banquet. Our 42nd Grand Banquet will include some changes from past banquets. Dan Small will not only be the Master of Ceremonies for Friday and Saturday night, Dan will also be the speaker at the Saturday morning breakfast. The breakfast has limited seating so be sure to sign up early. Late Saturday morning there will also be two exciting seminars. The first seminar will be presented by Greg Johnson “Moose Man” from Raging Russians. Then there will be a seminar on Emergency Field Care presented by Pewaukee Veterinary Service. Volunteers are always needed. Please contact me if you have interest in helping make the 42nd Banquet a success. As we feel the full impact of winter settling in don’t forget Wisconsin’s winter Crow season. Crows are a serious predator of turkeys. They destroy nests as well as young chicks. Other predators such as coyote are now fully furred and provide some exciting hunts. Dan and other SCI members for breakfast and hear Dan’s stories of “Tree Stand Missteps and How to

Shoot a Buck with Your Pants Down.”

Plan on spending the weekend at the Grand Geneva Resort & Spa and enjoy the old and new events that SCI Wisconsin has to offer!

First, second and third place ribbons will be awarded in each category.A People’s Choice Award will be awarded at the Saturday dinner.

1. There will be a class of entry in each of the following categories (only 1 entry per category): • Live Wild Animal • Hunter in the field • Trophy Animal with or without Hunter • Wisconsin Photo • Youth (16 and under) • Hunting Bloopers or Camp Humor • Scenery

2. A photographer entering this contest must be a member in good standing with SCI- Wisconsin Chapter or family member of a member in good standing.

3. Photographs entered must be taken by the individual entering them.

4. Submitted photo size must be 8” x 10”; no smaller, no larger.

5. Photos should be unmatted (framed and/or matted prints will not be accepted.)

6. Photographers should place the entry form (on reverse side) on the back of their photos.

7. In order to have your photo(s) judged, please mail or deliver to Abby Trawicki by Thursday, February 1, 2018. Entries received after the deadline date will be displayed but will not be eligible for awards.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED This year’s 42nd Annual Big Game Hunters Grand Banquet will be held at the Grand Geneva Resort & Spa in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin on Friday, February 22 and Saturday, February 23, 2019.

Your banquet committee has worked to keep this event the best in the country. We have an exceptional menu and the best selection of hunts, trips, auction and raffle items from around the globe. We will have some of the best outfitters and exhibitors available.

Please consider volunteering at the banquet. You, as chapter members are encouraged to participate. Volunteering for a spot is typically for only a few hours and not for the entire evening.
