I work at Emmanuel International (EI) in Buchosa on Kome Island as a Community Developer Trainer on the Health Project, focusing on water and sanitation. We educate and mobilise the society on taking care of their health and of the environment and water sources. We also provide seminars on other different societal issues such as poverty eradication strategies and teaching the word of God. I am passionate about my work as it involves working with the community, especially the marginalised society. I love reading the Bible which enlightens me and gives me strength in hard times and also reminds me of believing in God the Almighty, the Alpha and Omega, hence I have nothing to fear. I love playing football in my spare time and listening to gospel music. Please pray for their work to be completed on time.Tanzania: We are excited to welcome Suzan Nyigo to our Iringa team! She is the development officer for our Pentecostal Holiness Mission (PHM) partner church and will be working with our team and developing a project for PHM; pray that she will be a great fit for the team and that she can build up our partnership with PHM.Tanzania:2 Laura’s parents arrive in Mwanza today for a month-long visit! Let’s pray for the right preparation of responders. Likewise, let’s pray that EI Malawi will have adequate support and resources to respond to possible floods.South Africa:4 Rachel and Nathan Sayers’ visa situation has not been sorted yet. Please pray! It seems that we may need to delay our furlough until their visa application is finalized. International:5 The International Board will be meeting on the 14th of January for its quarterly Board meeting. We are waiting for responses from 3 people who have been invited to join our Board. Please pray for her!South Africa: Pray for South Africa and her leaders. The rolling black-outs are back and we reached a point in December where our power was cut 3 times a day for a total of 6 hours. This makes it very difficult for businesses to keep running and will only drive up an already historically high unemployment rate, of about 30% for the general population and 60% for the youth.Tanzania:7 The TAG church has their leadership meetings this week. Please pray for Tim, Joel and Peter travelling to Dodoma for this and presenting our annual report.Malawi:8 We will have our Board meeting this January for the Quarter ending December 2019. Let’s pray for a meaningful meeting.Tanzania:9 The VanWoerdens are preparing to leave Iringa and are busy with goodbyes and packing and handing over responsibilities for the work; pray that these last weeks will be a blessing and not overly stressful.
