To maintain our insurance coverage of shooters, you must produce your current ACTA book with 2020 sticker or green Recreational Shooter card at registration each shoot. If you haven’t attended to your 2020 membership please do so as soon as possible and before your next shoot. January Two Day Shoot a Great Success: We had 121 shooters on Day 1 and 107 shooters on Day 2. This was a great success considering the drought, fires and challenging weather conditions over the weekend. It was a pleasure to see our first full squad of juniors compete in our January shoot and special congratulations to Aaron Tynan for his second place in C Grade Points. Feedback has been great and our thanks go to the groundstaff, our volunteer member trap mechanics who worked well into the night repairing traps that in spite of the servicing they received caused some problems on Friday. Office and kitchen staff as well as many club members all ensured our shoot went well. I have received good feedback about the pizzas on Saturday night and we plan to have a mobile pizza oven at our August shoot. Congratulations to all concerned in making this event a great success. Trap News: The committee remains committed to throwing the best targets we can. Most are aware we are trialling traps to achieve that goal. In the meantime, the committee has engaged a trap mechanic to overhaul our six traps and replace any and all parts required. The mechanic is unavailable for a few months but this will be completed as soon as he is able. Once again the club is very grateful for the huge amount of work our club maintenance team do and have done to keep our current traps going. Bushfire Donation: Lyndon Anderson’s sponsorship of the 25 Pair Double Rise on Sunday wasn’t won but he generously donated the $500 to the Rocky Point Bush Fire Brigade and combined with $246 raised by our G.C.C.T.C. ladies morning teas a total of $746 is being presented on your behalf to our local RFS. Well done everyone concerned. New Website Developing: Our club is developing a new website and it is now live albeit still in construction phase. You can access it at www.goldcoastclaytargetclub.com. A few features we hope you enjoy are current newsletters, details for new and prospective members, corporate details and some pictures of members in the gallery.
