Senior Spotlights

Alison Nelsen is the daughter of Todd and Melanie Nelsen. She was born on July 1st, 2003. Her favorite lunch is
bringing chicken alfredo from home. Alison’s favorite subjects were sociology and psychology with Zoucha and
her favorite teacher was also Zoucha. She participates in One-Act, Speech, Band, Jazz Band, Volleyball, NHS, Track
& Field, and Basketball. Her favorite memory was when Mrs. Sherman was yelling at her for not singing right in 4th
grade. Alison plans on going to college full time and getting a degree in wildlife biology/wildlife ecology. She
wants to be a zoologist or wildlife biologist.
Emylee Jewett is the daughter of Lynn Rich. She was born on May 3rd, 2003. Her favorite parts about Homer are
the small class sizes and the opportunity to work one-on-one with teachers. Her favorite lunch is macaroni and
cheese. Emylee’s favorite subject is physics and her favorite teacher is Mr. D. She participates in Band, Jazz Band,
Choir, One-Act, Speech, and Track. Her favorite memory was when the choir had 4 students using crutches. Emyl-
ee plans on going to college to become a Speech and Language Pathologist and wants to help young kids and
stroke victims regain their ability to talk properly.

Preschool Enrollment
As of January 1, 2021, Homer Com-munity School will be taking names for our 2021-2022 Preschool Class. Please contact the school office at 402-698-2377 before April 1, 2021.
Preschool students must be four years old on or before July 31,
2021.
One Act Districts

Homer Schools One Act team placed second in
districts. The team that placed first was Stanton. This year’s
cast is: Brandon Dumdei, Cyle Wolfe, Brooklynn Schmitt,
Reagan Modlin, Shelby Benson, Karsyn Monk, Adreanna
Dunn, Alison Nelson, Dylan Harris, Bradie Johnson, Cloe
Holmes, and Emylee Jewett.
This year’s tech is: Logan Schreier, Angel Paredes, Carson
Gaarder and Kaleb Kinzie.
The people that won acting awards are: Bradie Johnson,
Brandon Dumdei, Shelby Benson, Brooklynn Schmitt, Cloe

Community School’s custodians. Bill
says that he enjoys his job at the
school, and his favorite thing about
Homer is the staff and students. He
doesn’t believe his job is hard at all. He
occasionally plays music and could
some day be good enough to win The
Voice.
8th Grader Rylie Harris

Rylie Harris has five siblings and their names are Lizette,
Gracie, Mary, Anna, and Sofia. Her favorite school lunch
is chicken nuggets. Rylie has 2 dogs, Ellie and Axel. She
also plays sports at school: volleyball, basketball, and
track. If she could be any animal in the world, she
would be a koala. Her favorite thing to do in the sum-
mer is going to her cousin’s house in the dunes and
swimming.
