• Overall market activity for residential sector (inc. lots, single family homes and strata properties) saw a slight decrease in activity from 1035 units in 2011 to 1016 units in 2012. Each sale consists of 2 ‘ends’ in Realtor® speak; so there were 2032 ‘ends’ this year.
• Coast Realty Group (Comox Valley) Ltd. handled 462 ‘ends’ which account for roughly 23% of the market (some sales were commercial property).• Single family homes accounted for 699 units in both 2011 and 2012; so no change.• Townhouse unit sales increased by 71%• The most active segment of the market was the town of Comox in the 300-350K price range

transition will be inspired by our diverse imagining of a better world. The Small Planet Institute says “Hope is not what we find in evidence. It is what we become in action.” In the face of forces which see 'growing the economy' as the only measure of human progress, millions of global citizens are taking action by declaring that they no longer want to live in a society based on greed and unending material growth. Our festival is a forum for sharing stories that help us to understand our world and to inspire us to con-tinue to create the future that will sustain us. While our festival does not avoid the difficult issues chal-lenging our very survival, our goal
is to place these issues in a context that inspires action. Watching these films with other people and visiting our Social Justice Bazaar helps to break down our isolation and con-nects us with others who share similar concerns. The collective message of the stories told by these films is one of possibility. The future that is possible will be based on a com-mitment to a profound common cause to change the world in the interests of all people, indeed of all living things and the planet itself. We hope these stories remain with you and inspire you to imagine new possibilities and to take action on your hopes and dreams of a better world.
