January 3, 2019

A warm Texas welcome to the 24th Annual Graduate Education and Graduate Student

Research Conference in Hospitality and Tourism! We are honored to host this wonderful

event at the University of Houston Conrad N. Hilton College of Hotel and Restaurant

Management and are pleased to once again be partnering with our colleagues from

The Hong Kong Polytechnic University.

With the vision of our Founding Chair, Professor Kaye Chon, this Conference has been

tremendously successful in sharing knowledge among graduate/undergraduate honor

students and faculty from around the world. Many of the former student attendees

who have participated in this rigorous – and friendly spirited – event return as our

colleagues and have come full circle to bring their own graduate students to this

experience. It’s rewarding to see!

Before things get started, we would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the

academic and corporate sponsors for making this Conference possible. We would also

like to extend our gratitude to the Paper Review Committee and panel members.

Finally, we wish to express our special thanks to all of the graduate and undergraduate

student researchers who will present at this Conference. We trust that you will enjoy

this opportunity to network and prepare yourself to become hospitality/tourism

educators.

If you have any specific questions or needs during the next three days, please don’t

hesitate to ask. We are here to assist you in any way we can.

Congratulations to all of the presenters and have a terrific conference!

Yoon Koh, Ph.D.
