EXISTING CONDITIONS

• Traffic– Functionally classified as an urban principal arterial expressway– Average annual daily traffic is up to 55,000 vehicles per day– The Parkside intersection operates at a poor level of service– Pedestrian/bicyclist access to separate portions of the park is

problematic

• Safety– A high volume of rear end accidents at Lincoln Park EB entrance

ramp, Nottingham ramp, Delaware Avenue EB entrance ramps, and Agassiz Circle

– Conflicts between pedestrian/bicyclists and motor vehicles at crossings

• Aesthetics
