My dear friends,

As I write this article, snow is

softly falling outside my

window, creating a beautiful

blanket of white. A blanket

that is symbolic of the many

forms of hibernation that take

place during the winter months.

And yet, I know that beneath

the snow, life is being renewed

and regenerated. Life is

preparing for its time to spring

forth into a new season of experiences.

For the ministry, the turn of the calendar page marks a

time of new life as we step into a new year as a

spiritual community. And we are so excited about

what is in store for us in 2014!

Our overall theme as a ministry for 2014 is ‘INSPIRED

& UNSTOPPABLE!’ This theme was inspired by the

book, ‘Inspired & Unstoppable: Wildly Succeeding in Your

Life’s Work’, by Tama Kieves. Throughout the year,

we’ll be exploring many different aspects of our lives

and going deeper into the divine inspiration that resides

within each of us. Each month will have its own

individual focus: Potential, Abundance, Forgiveness,

Service, Nurture, Yes!, Freedom, Strength, Prayer,

Commitment, Gratitude, and Faith. And with God as

our guide, we are indeed ‘Unstoppable’!

L ETTER FROM YOU R MIN ISTER

We also have a lot of fun times planned. Watch for

announcements about Super Bowl Sunday with your

favorite sports jerseys and tailgate fellowship; a Reverse

Tithe; Volunteer Appreciation Day; Hawaiian Shirt Day;

a retreat to Unity Village; and more. Our Community

Service (Outreach) programs will expand as we share

our abundance with our greater community, and we’ll

also continue to sponsor a few fundraisers to benefit

the ministry’s programs.

Your board of trustees and I look forward to sharing

more with you about our accomplishments in 2013 and

the ministry initiatives in 2014 at our annual

membership meeting on Sunday, February 23, 2014.

Although membership is required to vote on business

matters of the ministry during the meeting, everyone is

welcomed and encouraged to attend. It will be a time

for all of us to celebrate as a spiritual community and

prayerfully hold the vision for a year during which we

intend to be INSPIRED & UNSTOPPABLE!

My sincere gratitude to everyone for what was a

fabulous 2013. I offer my blessings to you and all those

you hold dear for a joyous, prosperous, and

transformative 2014.

In 2014 at Unity of Traverse City, we are all about claiming and

bringing forth our unlimited potential and expressing it into the

world. Each month, we will focus on a divine quality that inspires

UTC Sport Jersey Sunday Sunday, February 2, 2014

Wear your favorite team’s sport jersey for Super Bowl Sunday. If

you don't have a jersey or T-Shirt, just come comfortable. After

the service, join us for a tailgate party. Bring your favorite tailgate

food, your family and friends, and enjoy the fun!

2013. Abundance is in our midst,

and JOY is all around us at Unity!

Reverend Eileen and all of us on the

board are extremely grateful for

your generous and continued

support, and we feel confident 2014

will be another prosperous year in

our community! Our ministry is

gaining momentum, and the love and

pride within Unity of Traverse City

has never been better.

As always, we continue to be in

alignment with the vision and

mission of Unity of Traverse City

and the prosperity teachings of

Unity. “Love Offerings” are up

significantly through this writing

compared to the same time in

2012, and our YTD (January

through November) shows that we

are in good positive cash flow by

$20,334.83. Our final numbers for

2013 will not be available until mid-

January, but it is quite clear we will

2013 has been a terrific year for Unity

of Traverse City. An “environment of

abundance” and “gratitude” continues

to exist in our community, which has

been reflected in our financial growth.

We remain in solid financial shape as

organizations that are ready and

waiting for a good home. Check out

The New Year 2014 marks Unity's 8th

year coordinating the dog walking

program and scheduling the daily dog

walkers at the Cherryland Humane

Society. It is a privilege to be in the

presence of all the compassionate dog

walkers, who give their time, love and

talents to these great dogs that are

awaiting adoption. In case you did not

know, through a private donation,

It was a

busy and

fulfilling

Holiday

Season for

the Angels.

It was a

time when

everyone showed they are indeed

Angels. Early in December we were

in contact with the Women’s

Resource Center. They gave us

three Doula families . These are

families with unwed mothers who are

helped to form their families and live

independently. They are given help

with their babies, setting up their

home, finishing school and learning to

run their households. We were

granted three families to provide

estimated total for our giving was a

little over $800.

There are a number of congregants

who have had surgery or are

otherwise incapacitated. We are

making phone calls, visits, and sending

cards to these folks. Please contact

June Neal if you have some time and

would like to participate. She can be

reached at the number below.

The Angel lunch group will meet

again on the third Tuesday of January

at the church. Please join for

fellowship and some planning.

Christmas help and cheer.

There were 11 people in the three

families altogether ranging in age

from three months to 19 years of

age. The agency asked them to

make a wish list. Susan Hall (our

Angel) got together all the materials

and the Angels made paper

ornaments to go on the Angel tree.

All the ornaments had a name and

wish on them. When Sunday

arrived the congregants took the

ornaments home and brought back

the gifts. We again met as an Angel

group and sorted all the gifts. We

delivered them the week of

December 16th. Our wonderful

congregants were very creative and

generous with their giving. The
