January 2019 January’s program was a perfect “bullseye” by Nita Engle Jim Gresham and Jim Buchan are shown setting up and testing the equipment for the January Program. The projection of Nita Engle’s DVD came off without a hitch and Buchan’s comments and personal examples added an extra punch to the presentation. Nita demonstrated some unique techniques including her “glowing bullseye”. 1 Announcement: The Pershing Studios gate will open at 9:00 am and close at 10 am due to residents concerns. GCWS Annual Membership Dues are due. You may make payment arrangements with Carol Mullen, Treasurer. Annual dues is $35. Evelyn is a commissioned portrait painter as well as a well known court room artist. She’s an artist based in Oklahoma. With her love of art she has been able to

build a lifetime career drawing and painting. As an artist for hire, she applies her art no matter the venue; for example as a courtroom artist, event painter for weddings, or for personal commissions. ◽

Jim Buchan's Workshop... Don’t forget Jim Buchan’s “Almost Free” workshop January 24th at Pershing Studios from 9:30 - 2:30. We’ll be painting this cold winter scene. ◽

✏ September 2019: GCWS has an agreement with the Hive in Jenks for them to host our Membership Show in September.

✏ January 22: The public is invited to the first ArtNight of the year presented by the Bartlesville Art Association.

Guest speaker will be Addie Roanhorse, renowned Osage artist.

She uses aspects of her indigenous culture in her personal mixed-media work and in her role as Senior Graphic Designer for the Osage Nation. Roanhorse will share the challenge of using cross-discipline design working with architects and museum developers for the “Momentary”, a new museum being built in Bentonville, Arkansas, by Crystal Bridges Museum. She will also discuss the best-selling book and upcoming movie, “Killers of the Flower Moon: The Osage Murders and the Birth of the FBI.”  ArtNight will be held on Tuesday, January 22, at 6:30 p.m., in the BAA Design Center, 500 S.

✏ Larry Babb, local artist, TU graduate and well-known in Tulsa, will have a show of his work.

Although Larry went on to work with corporations and Galleries nationally, this will be a portfolio show of his watercolors.

Show remains until February 2 at 5:00.
