To realize a 21st-century society that balances environmental

protection with economic growth, we need to use Japan’s

strengths in manufacturing and environment-related technologies

and energy-saving to transform all aspects of our economy,

society and lifestyles. The Green IT Promotion Council is working

to promote further energy-saving through and in IT devices as

part of METI’s Green IT Initiative.

This association is a manufacturer-driven organization promoting

3Rs (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) activities, such as the recycling of

used PCs based on the Law for Promotion of Effective Utilization

of Resources.

This center evaluates the security of IT, an important infrastructure

of modern society. In addition to providing high-quality evaluations

of operating systems, database management systems, firewalls

and other IT products, the center promotes activities related to

consulting and education.

With the aim of promoting and developing measures for the

revitalization of the semiconductor industry and seeking new

opportunities in semiconductor technology, SIRIJ’s activities are

establishing various visions and implementing plans.

JGPSSI aims to standardize survey target list and answer formats

to reduce coordination workloads, as well as to improve response

quality in research on chemical substances contained in electronic

components and materials.

The objective of this consortium is to shape and expand a full-

scale and sound mobile computing system market through

cooperation from related organizations and enterprises. It aims

to contribute to the development and growth of the information

society by implementing activities to realize and expand more

advanced, efficient, and economic mobile computing systems.

The mission of this Council is to contribute to the healthy

development of Japan’s information society by establishing

voluntary control for electromagnetic emissions from IT equipment,

such as computers, telecommunication products and electronic

office products, so that they will not disrupt other electronics

products, including radios and television sets.
