Interviewer: おにぎりって知ってます? You familiar with onigiri?

Hajime-san: 名前だけを聞いたことがあります。 I’ve only ever heard the name.

● 「聞いたことがある」 means to have the experience of hearing (something)

● 「だけ」 here means only

● The sentence without 「だけ」 would be 「名前を聞いたことがあります。」 = I’ve heard the name before.

Structure

1. Put the verb in the ~ます form2. Replace 「ます」 with 「たいです」 or 「たくないです」

Examples「わー、きれいな海

What a beautiful ocean. I want to swim!

があまりおもしろくないから、見たくないです。

That movie is not very interesting, so I don’t want to see it.

むずかしいから、おにぎりをつくりたくないです。
