Program Requirements

Must be based on priorities identified in locally-developed Public Transit – Human Services Transportation Coordination Plan

Must be competitively selected Require a 20% match for capital projects and a

50% match for operational projects Transit agencies, non-profit organizations,

governmental authorities, private providers of public transportation can apply

Purpose of Solicitation

Ensure compliance with Federal funding regulations for Job Access Reverse Commute and New Freedom Funding

Identify viable projects that address needs identified in the Coordinated Plan for Greene, Miami, Montgomery and northern Warren Counties

Improve transportation options in the study area for low-income persons and persons with disabilities

Late night flex service for service workers in Greene County. Request: $57,000 (Greene CATS)

Establishment of Route #99 to service the Gateway Homeless Shelter to destinations including the Job Center. Request: $120,000 (GDRTA)

Job Access Reverse Commute Transit Links Travel Training for low income workers. Request: $22,200 (GDRTA)

Job Access Reverse Commute support for JobReady Transport Connect – short term shuttle service to identified suburban jobs and transport to Mature Workers program from Greene County to Dayton Urban League training program. Request: $88,060 (Dayton Urban League)

Draft New Freedom Project List

Weekday community outing transport for people with severe disabilities. Request: $4,710 (Greene CATS)

Expanded weekend service for people with disabilities. Request: $93,483 (Greene CATS)

Expanded Fixed Route Travel Training Program for people with disabilities. Requested: $5,000 (Greater Dayton RTA)

Taxi Voucher Program to provide limited same day service to people with disabilities. Requested: $1,872 (Greater Dayton RTA)

Final Approval Project review is not complete – details of projects may

be modified, some projects may be ruled ineligible for funding

All project recommendations are contingent on availability of matching funds, which cannot be Federal Department of Transportation funds

The Final Program of Projects must be endorsed by the Board of the Miami Valley Regional Planning Commission and approved by the Federal Transit Administration
