The Jardine Lloyd Thompson Benet Solutions Award for quality in
health and community care programmes is open to Colleges of FurtherEducation, Sixth Form Colleges and Tertiary Colleges offering courseswhich cover community and residential care, health studies, earlyyears/nursery nursing and other health and community careprogramme areas.
The assessors will be looking for:
Outstanding schemes that provide models of goodpractice in health and community care provision
Initiatives that have innovative and exiblefeatures supporting high levels of achievement
College should provide evidence demonstrating the following:
Responsiveness to employer and training needs in the provisionof high quality courses or specic training programmes
Effective collaboration with employers and service providers inthe planning and evaluation of the course
Innovation and exibility in the planning and delivery of coursesincluding joint initiatives with service providers such as outreachactivities and the use of technology where appropriate
Effectiveness of monitoring and evaluation mechanisms with clearevidence of sustained improvement in the quality of provision
Successful development of co-ordinating strategies to facilitatelearning outcomes through consistency in supervision and in theassessment methods used in practical work placements
