M.S. in Education (MSE)The Master of Science in Education (MSE) program is designed for teachers with an initial license. In addition to helping you master content to design and deliver instruction more effectively, our program includes a framework to support your desire to grow as a servant leader. Faculty members are highly qualified, actively engaged in education and work regularly in schools and with students. The program’s cohort model allows you to work and learn with the same classmates, networking and building a community you can rely on for years. You’ll choose one of three areas of concentration (elementary, STEM or special education), where you’ll demonstrate your ability to analyze, plan and think critically in each course and a culminating experience.

M.A. in Teaching Special Education (MAT-SPED)The Master of Arts in Teaching - Special Education (MAT-SPED) program is designed to prepare special education teachers to work with students with mild disabilities who receive instruction through the general curriculum. Based on research and behavior support, it enhances your ability to help your students grow academically and functionally. Faculty members are highly qualified in the field and work regularly in schools and with students.

After completing the licensure phase and earning a passing score on the required licensure exams, you are recommended for initial licensure as a general curriculum special education teacher. After successfully completing the advanced phase, you qualify for your master’s degree and the advanced level licensure.

With the program’s cohort model, you’ll work with the same classmates in every course, a key element for community-building and networking. You’ll demonstrate your abilities to analyze, plan, and think critically, and apply ideas and techniques you learn about in class.
