• Grease+Gard II is the first approved Grease Recovery Device (GRD) that can be used on above-the-floor and in-floor greaseinterceptor applications.
• Grease+Gard II is also the first approved GRD applicationdevice that can also be used as a retrofit unit on most other manufacturers’ interceptors.
Definition
Market Issues
• Dealing with grease; dipping, pumping/disposalcosts and cleaning pipe blockages.
• Cleaning schedule, frequency and related high operating costs.
• Meeting stringent discharge requirements andpaying surcharges/fines for non-compliance.
• Increasing enforcement and tightening of Federal regulations.
• Grease+Gard II Retrofit Skimmer (Pat. # 7,296,694) is the only retrofit device intended for GRD applicationson the market today.
• The retrofit unit can be installed on most interceptors, saving thousands in interceptor replacement costs.
• The retrofit unit is a less expensive alternative to a standard grease recovery device.
• Meets applicable code requirements.
• Efficient and simple solutions for different applications.
• Smith now has a competitive GRD that equals the competition.
Sales Opportunity
Indirect Solids Interceptors
Solids interceptors provide a way to collect food solids to prevent them from entering the grease interceptor. Jay R. Smith Mfg. Co. offers an array of optional inline solids interceptors and indirect waste solids with Grease+Gard II systems in extreme applications .

How does it work?
• Belt technology along with a heaterand timer.
• The belt cycles through the grease layer.• Grease sticks to the belt.• The skimmer blades wipe the grease
off the belt.• The grease goes off the skimmer
blades and into the grease trough.• The grease trough feeds the grease
into the grease bucket where it is collected and removed dailyto a barrel for proper disposal.
Inline solids interceptor is optional and not included with the purchase
of the Grease+Gard II unit
• Grease + Gard II eliminates the need to stir the contents with Agitator technology, which maintains circulationin the interceptor.
• Helps circulate the top grease layer.
• Aids in drawing the greaseto the belt.
• Patented # 7,296,694.
