ones from this semester – usually have no fat and have no colour on them) - Will start with the bone and then go into muscle- DERMATOMES ARE IMPORTANT - PTL – practice sessions for nervous students - When handed a bone always hold it to where it is usually articulated within

the body- Have ID card in your pocket - ½ in one day ½ in the other (ask friends for types of questions – those later

on in the day get asked harder questions)

HISTOLOGY:- STUDY THIS - Can be between pass and fail - WILL USE SAME LABELS AND STAINS - DON’T SKIP OVER THE SIDE PANELS - Do the online step by step thing - Look through it min. 4 times - MCQ PART IS ESSENTIALLY PICTURES (quizzes and crosswords are

important – pictures are in colour) NM:

- 30 MCQ 55%- Anatomy is helpful - BLUE BOOK PRACTICE THE CLINICAL CASE STUDIES - 3SNQ = 1 ANATOMY, 1 MUSCLE, 1 NERVOUS QUESTION/PHARM

HIS:- Challenging exam – because it is SUPER CLINICAL - 30 MCQ – 70%- Understand the haematology and immunology - Go over pharmacology - GO OVER HIS - 3SNQ = 1 haematology, 1 immune, 1 pharmacology (it is really hard and

make sure you understand it really well)- Know first line treatment drugs (severe side effects)- BASIC CONCEPTS OF IMMUNOLOGY - BRS: microbiology and immunology is a good resource- USMLE step 1 is also a good buy - IGNORE THE NEW DRUGS MENTIONED AT END OF LECTURE - KNOW THE MAJOR SIDE EFFECTS OF THE DRUGS

AS:- 45 MCQ 52.5%- worth twice as much because it is a double module - ANATOMY is really important - 6 SNQ = 2-3 anatomy, 1 digestive, GI, Reproductive, 1 Pharmacology, 1 Liver

Physiology, 1 Stomach Physiology - Mark you up for getting things right (DO NOT LEAVE THINGS BLANK)

o Bullet points are important (don’t draw things if you don’t know how to)

o Use YouTube to look at specimens - KNOW THE EMBRYLOGICAL MATERIAL

CPB:- HIGH FAILURE RATE- 30 MCQ 70%- Complex and poorly explained material - 100 slide MCQ LECTURE – ONLY 2 QUESTIONS- Dermit Cox drug lectures (get it done first)- VITAMIN LECTURES ARE IMPORTANT - KNOW THE VITAMIN DEFIENCIES AND BAD SIDE EFFECTS - Lectures 1-7 are easy and do those at the end - 3 SNQ: 1 Vitamins eating disorders, cells, molecules, 2 on: Pharmacology,

Glycolysis, Gluconeogenesis, Digestion/processing/post-absorption- Know the rate limiting steps, clinical diseases of enzymes- Phillip Mayne lectures are important as well

o Lab chart with a description of issues and what enzyme is deficient

HBS:- High failure rate neglected often - 30 MCQ 60%- Simplistic material - REMBER PSYCOLOGICAL THEORIES - Need 45% of minimum for project grade to kick in - SNQ = DEFINITION – specific wordings - 3 SNQ: 1 specific behaviour, 1 human development, 1 personality/learning

memory - Book: Behavioural Science - KNOW THE CALCULATIONS - Don’t worry about the graphs and studies
