Diamond Jubilee

16th November 2013Swiss Church Covent Garden

Celebration of

Over the past 60 ye-ars, JCI London has continuously worked towards helping achie-ve the JCI Mission of “providing develop-ment opportunities that empower young people to create posi-tive change”.

With the philosophy of ‘learning by doing’ at the heart of each year, many members have been able to reach their full potential by being active and engaged within the organisation. Members have taken their newly acquired skills to their environments, their workplaces and, on many occasions, back to their countries of origin helping impact their communities.

It is therefore fair to say that the impact of JCI London on the world and community is so wide and varied that it is immeasurable.

This year we realised that after 60 years, JCI London’s active members required a new chal-lenge to help the organisation move to the next level. It was also important to introduce a new set of events and challenges to meet members’ expectations of personal development. Ho-wever, the question was - how does a mature organisation in such a big city have the ability to make an impact and push its directors and members, who are at varying levels of compe-tency, outside of their comfort zone while in-creasing attendance and membership engage-ment?

Hence, the theme of this year is “Make Some NOISE!!!”. The idea was to create larger, more impactful and louder events which would en-

sure that the directors, project managers and members get the opportunity to challenge themselves and move out of their comfort zone. The organisation this year has achieved phen-omenal impact on members, sponsors, part-ners, attendants, and potential new members. For the first time in five years, JCI London has sold more than 2000 tickets in one year for its events, reaching a wider range of individuals within London and making much louder noise.

Nevertheless, all this would not have been achievable without the hard work of all the JCI London members over the past 60 years. We are where we are because of the dedication of the members that have put in their own time, effort, and energy in volunteering for such a no-ble cause. It is an honour to have served this organisation and been in line of many other great past JCI London Presidents and Future Presidents. I have full confidence that this or-ganisation will continue to move forward.

It is JCI London 2013’s way of saying “Thank You” to all our previous members by organising this event. It is also our platform to launch into 2014 with the theme “Thinking Possible”.

We hope you have a great time at your cele-bration

Sincerely

In this workshop I share some tips on how to deal with networking events including how to get over the nerves that we all feel beforehand. I give the 5 essential things to remember when in networ-king situations including how to break the ice and get into conversations. I also cover how to deal with following up on key contacts and the how to mana-ge business cards effectively.
