Forecast Applications

For users of the JDE Forecasting Module there are a number additional applications that would be on most users’ wish list. The restriction of reviewing, maintaining, copying one item forecast at a time is a real process and productivity issue for many businesses. The inability to generate a short term weekly forecast and longer term monthly forecast for the one item for use in Planning is another issue for many businesses. The JDEasy Forecast Applications can transform your forecast process, offering real time savings and user satisfaction. These Applications consist of:

Forecast Review and Maintenance Applications Compare history to forecast for many items by Branch or Planning Family Review history to past and future forecast types on screen for up to 52 periods Maintain the forecast on the same screen Copy history / forecast to another item for supersessions or new item introduction

Forecast Splitting Application: Split selected period from Monthly to weekly forecast.

This offering the ability for the user to review and revise forecast month but use weekly forecasts for planning.

Forecast Consolidation Applications Consolidate the actuals / forecast from many branches into one branch / forecast type. Consolidate Best Fit & Manual or Promotional Forecasts into one forecast for planning. Copy history / forecast to another branch / forecast type

Review and compare either 2 or 3 forecast types Shows Periods both Pre and Post the current period. ( max of 26 Pre & 26 Post

periods) Current period defaults or enter override period Post current periods are open for Maintenance for one forecast type only Supports Both Monthly and weekly periods

This example: Monthly Forecasting: using 3 forecast Types, 12 periods and default current date. Use header fields to filter by Branch and Master Planning Family. Use QBE for further filtering including sales and purchasing cat codes

Forecast Review / Copy Application

Review items with and without forecast. Compare 2 forecast types Shows up to 24 Periods pre the current period. Current period defaults or enter an override period Display a copy to item number against each forecast type Copies single forecast types for a single item, OR Copies multiple forecast types and multiple items at the same time

Processing Options: Copy Tab set the Copy Mode and the number of periods to copy.

Display tab sets the Period type, Date Pattern, and Forecast Type displayed

Branch NAT: Item M80 has a CA forecast, Item M80 TI has no CA forecast

Enter the Copy to Item number M80 TI

Output Results after copy The M80 TI CA forecast is a copy of the M80 CA forecast.

Branch NAT: Item M80 has a CF forecast, Item M80 TI has no CF forecast Item M100 CA & CF forecast to be copied to TI BREV 100 CA & CF Item M50U/L CA & CF forecast to be copied to MB AIR CA & CF

Output results Screen shows MB AIR and M80 TI forecasts populated.

Forecast Splitting Application

Splits “Monthly Period” forecast to “Weekly Period” forecast Nominate input and output Forecast Types Nominate input and output Fiscal Date Patterns Nominate number of weekly periods required to be split Supports partial month or full month split Supports “Forecast at start of month” - forward splitting over forecast month,

or “Forecast at end of month” - rearward splitting over forecast month Monthly Periods forecast post split periods are also written to output Forecast Type.

Start of Month Splitting Monthly fiscal date pattern has period end date at the “Start of the month”.

Weekly date pattern – this example the weekly period ends on Sunday.

Processing Option for Partial Monthly Split is set to 1 “Exact number of weeks”

This example: Partial Month Split mode =1 Exact No of weeks. The quantity on 17/2/12 is the balance of the month after 2 weeks of Feb 2012 have been split
