A few weeks ago a taxi driver from NYC foundhimself standing in front of St. Peter at the PearlyGates. St. Peter asked his name and profession. “I’m Bob Jones and I’ve been a taxi driver for years.” St. Peter checked his list, smiled, and gave Bob a golden staff and robe of the finestsilk. “Welcome to Heaven!” said St. Peter as heopened the gate.A bit later another arrival was greeted with thesame question. “I’m Daniel Lions and I’m thepastor of the Big Church in the City.” St. Peterchecked his list and handed the pastor a woodenstaff and cotton robe. “Hey,” said Pastor Daniel,“Why didn’t I get the gold staff and silk robe?”“Oh,” said St. Peter, “We work on the results system here. When people listen to you on Sunday, they fall asleep. When people ride inBob’s taxi, they pray!”
