• Regarded as the “first novel ever”

• Translated in French and English

• Cervantes was very intelligent and enjoyed reading at a

young age

• While Cervantes was in Spain, they were transitioning

into their Renaissance period

• Chivalry is heavy in Don Quixote, due to the heavy use of

chilvary in early Spanish Literature

• Cervantes was influenced by the early writings of his

country

• Don Quixote is an older man that begins a journey to defeat the evils

of the world after reading about similar stories in the books he had

read

• Brings along his friend Sancho Panza

• Sees the good in all citizens, which is a blessing and curse

• Quioxte is extremely chivalrous, and carries himself with a higher

nobility than what he truly possesses

• Mocks social structure

allows readers to fully understand/follow all action

successfully written and widely accepted and recognized
