K Jeremy Jackrabbit lived in the desert and he loved the color green; He had friends around town, Kora the Coyote was brown and Juliet, a purple-spotted scorpion queen.

1st Jeremy’s pals lived quite far! With no wings or a car, it was hard to cross the Valley end to end; But Jeremy was in luck, when Rosie the Recycling Duck, suggested he ride the light rail with his friends.

2nd Rosie quacked of a way Jeremy could travel all day, without needing to drive or use gas; He could hop on his bike, or even walk if he’d like, to the station to purchase a pass.

2nd With bike helmets on their heads, down the road the friends sped, riding safely and following the rule; They then parked at the station, scanned the map and destination, for the circus was downtown by their school.

3rd From under a bench, Sunny the small desert finch, popped her head out to give them a tip, “Take your bike on the train, and then ride it again,” she tweeted as she joined on their trip.

3rd Before the trio could ride, they each had to decide, which pass to buy for their day, They all took time to think, then slid their coins in, CLINK, CLINK! Ready to travel and play,

4th As they boarded the train, their friend Flora the Crane, was dancing, singing, and jumping quite loudly; The others quickly joined in, with big smiles and wide grins; they were traveling safely and proudly,

4th Dylan the Garden Snail, left a long gooey trail, but cleaned up without leaving a stain; “Making a mess with your trash, or using language that’s crass, isn’t allowed when you’re riding the train.”

5th Olivia the Owl, who was a bird, not a fowl, sat without seeing Kangaroo Rat Ruth, But she hopped to her feet, and quickly offered her seat, when she saw Ruthy was long in the tooth.

5th The light rail was quick, arriving lickety-split, to the circus in the heart of downtown, They’d enjoy and admire, the sword-swallowers eat fire, lions, bears, and the juggling clowns.

6th At the end of the show, when it was time to go, they were joined by Stone the rattle-snake, And by Bennett and Evan, the two Chihuahuan Raven, who wanted to go swim at the lake,

6th The Coyotes Noah and Russell were making quite a tussle, howling “the light rail doesn’t go out that far!” “We can ride the bus there,” squeaked Dillon and Jonah the two black-tailed desert hares, “our bunny family never fits in one car.”

7th They rode the bus to the lake, for a swim and some cake, after traveling back and forth across town, The friends had been on bikes, took light rail with a snail, rode the bus and enjoyed circus clowns.

8th At the end of the day, they had traveled and played, multi-modal was a cool thing to do, So make it a habit, be like Jeremy Jackrabbit, ride a bike, light rail and the bus with your friends too!
