FROM THE PRESIDENT I hope everyone is enjoying their summer. Car shows are plentiful and for those who enjoy the beach or the backyard pool I’m sure you spent a lot of time at both. I’m sorry I couldn’t make it to July’s meeting but I understand that everyone who did attend enjoyed the ice cream that Jack & Joyce Wright brought, and of course the toppings supplied by Natalie & Bob Gomez. You know I had to be pretty exhausted to miss that delicacy! 🤤🤤🤤

I received an e-mail from a contact for Bill Campbell. The lady stated that she came across some boxes when cleaning out Bill’s home and they were marked “CCACC”. She asked if we would have an interest in them, as some of the items seemed to be very old. I replied that we would be very interested and she said she would contact me on her return from her home in Wisconsin. I doubt if we will have it for August’s meeting but hopefully for September’s meeting. I’m sure some, if not all, the items could prove interesting. Fun Day (our annual club picnic) will again be fully catered by Lindingers. Hopeann Hug will be selling tickets at the August 27th and September 24th General Membership meetings. MONTHLY COVER – JENNERS POND – 2007 Due to having no cars & stories from the members, I decided to dig in my photo’s and see if I could come up with something and since we are invited back to Jenners Pond this was fitting. I don’t know how many years Jerry and Pat Schneider have been the Run Leader for this event, but I have been attending since 2007. This is always a great run, usually a good turnout, excellent food and the residents enjoy coming out and seeing the old cars. If you have never gone, you should squeeze it in your schedule this year. . .

KIMBERTON FAIR CCACC was invited to display our vehicles at the 91st Kimberton Fair on Saturday, July 27th. A good display of cars on a hot day. We all enjoyed some of the good fair food and answered numerous questions from the many fair goers. Those in attendance were:

CCACC DISPLAY – COATESVILLE SR. CENTER On Friday, July 26th, we were invited to display our cars at the Coatesville Senior Center in Coatesville where we have participated in the past. Seven members came out and we enjoyed talking to all the Senior Center members enjoying our cars. Of course most of them owned one and if not they had ridden in one. Many took pictures with the cars. At noon we enjoyed lunch and then back to the cars. It was a beautiful day and we had a huge shade tree and a lot of good stories. Thanks to the members that attended, Jack & Joyce Wright,Bud Tarr, Natalie Gomez, Joe Toner, Chuck Walker, Jean Cassidy & Chet Whiting. A good way to promote our club. What the difference between a pothole and sinkhole... one week. Cruise down any Pennsylvania highway, back road or alley and you are bound to come across what some people call a pothole. It starts out as a crack. Not very large by any means. A small blemish that we pass going to meetings, family outings, maybe even church. But as time goes by it's like a scab we keep picking at. It just keeps growing never given a chance to heal. Hardly noticeable at first but by the end of the week that little scratch has taken over half your body just like a pothole does in the road. A slight irritation that just keeps growing. At first a little bump then a tire, next a tie rod end, then a ball joint. Yep just like that tiny scratch, but by the end of the week that little crack has consumed more car parts then a car crusher in a junk yard. Why don't we just call them what they really are? Sinkholes. Yep after you hit one you will sink more money into that old heap than you could ever imagine. So the next time you pass over that bump in the road be prepared to become your mechanics best friend by the end of the week. Kevin Stevenson
