DOLL RealSite is a concept I developed through thorough research of the needs in the society and technological opportunities developed primarily in the computer gaming industry. It´s about using 3D models, light simulation software, a computer game engine and Virtual Reality media to create a platform where various stakeholders in the lighting industry can design, communi-cate, visualize, validate, exhibit and experience lighting solutions in context through immersive virtual reality and an easily accessible on-line platform. DOLL RealSite is ready for use in stand-alone projects. The commercial version is expected to belaunched latest summer 2016. I´ve conducted the research, concept, UI and project management.Project is a part of DOLL Virtual Lab

RESEARCH SIMULATIONS MEASUREMENTS DESIGN

Product: CO2 Neutral hybrid lamppostClient: R&D project supported by ElforskProject Team: DTU, Faktor3, Henning Larsen Architects, Gate21, Philips, Alfred Priess, Municipality of Copenhagen

CopenHybrid was an innovation project on developing an off-grid CO2 neutral lamppost driven by solar and wind power. An ambitious project with a very high complexity comprising everything from market research, procurement and on-site test of competitive systems to new innovations in various fields of science: power management, context dependent dimensioning algorithms of the energy system, and product design for a new product typology - just to mention a few. Jesper Wolff did project management on construction, product design and prototyping. Project funded by Elforsk

The scope was to create a compact case for a novel type of laser for Norlase, a start-up company spun out from researchconducted at DTU Fotonik. The Norlase brief was to create an aesthetically appealing“box”. The result was an optimizedand functional construction that separates all wires from the optical components, making it easier to assemble and morecompact. The thermal design of the case handles 1/3 of the cooling, making it easier for the end-users to implement.Norlase also needed a graphic identity. Jesper Wolff did a logo that tells the story of the green laser, and at the same timeemphasized the coorporate identity through a visual connection between the graphics and the physical product.

HighLight brings you light in places never possible before. Using I-NO's Light Stretching Technology, HighLight is able to deliver a whopping 2000 lux from eight meters distance, using mere 50 watts of power. This means HighLight can be installed in high ceilings and achieve the same illuminance as spotlight that are installed in suspended wires.

I am behind the original concept, and has performed the overall design and documentation of the products. And also made all graphic material related to product brochure, installation guide, user manual, product photography and more.

The desire was to create a new type of Multi Court which includes a larger group of users. The product is an additive modular system which is based on a basic court for soccer, basketball and hockey, but can be easily expanded with additional activities, furniture and space-creating elements. The system can be adapted to diffe-rent contexts, as you have the option to choose different materials like wood, glass and phenolic-coated plates.

The first court was made at Hjallelse Skole by Virklund Sport in 2012

My very good colleague and designer, Christian Bjørn, got an assignment from the company Menu. The assignment was to design a series of oil lamps and tealights. He asked for my assistance, regarding sparring on design and making the documentation for the production.

We came up with Lighthouse. A simple shape with a global reference and a poetic story.

My very good colleague and designer, Christian Bjørn, got an assignment from the company Menu. The assignment was to design a series of oventrays. He asked for my assistance, regarding sparring on design and making the documentation for the production. We created a series of ovenproof, stackable porcelain dishes that opens new possibilities. 3 sizes; can be combined and stacked – also in the oven! You can cook several courses at once; the design allows oven heat to flow freely in all dishes! Just put the dishes directly on the table; the heat resistant silicone feet function as coasters! To keep the food warm place a dish with tea lights beneath the serving dish.

My very good colleague and designer, Christian Bjørn, came up with a new concept for the company Menu. Steamtower. He asked for my assistance, regarding sparring on design and making the documentation for the production. Steam Tower is a Scandinavian version of a traditional Asian steamer. The porcelain bowls can be stacked in the oven, enabling the preparation of several dishes at once. And the result is healthy, moist and fantastic. The Steam Tower maintains vitamins and minerals and adds wonderful taste to your food. Developed in cooperation with Michelin chef Morten Køster, who wrote an inspirational cookbook that accompanies the Steam Tower.

Contour was designed in close collaboration with designer Christian Bjørn.

The design of Contour is based on standard components. The two basins are similar to those found in other Intra products. The task was to integrate them into a new context. And to create a contemporary design that is also based on modern cooking. Therefore, the sink is complemented by a cutting board and wash bowl which makes the chopping, cutting and washing easier and more fun.

GigaLaser is designed in close collaboration with designer Christian Bjørn.

PowerLaser is an innovative product using laser and UV light to accelerate the healing process or even to give cosmethic treatments. It was very exciting to work with a very complex technology, and embed it into a user friendly and flexible product. The project demanded a great deal of user research at different kinds of clinics and treatment facilities. The client changed name from Andi to PowerMedic. I made product design, a new identity, brochures and website.

L-Control is a series of switches and sockets made for the Danish market. It was a great challenge to create a product that should be simple, discreet and compatible with the recessed installation boxes of LK, without using LK's format or in any other way get too close to LK´s products, both technically and design wise.I delivered design assistance and made documentation for the production.

Since Nordlux was founded in 1977 their objective has been to offer quality products at low cost.To a designer Nordlux´objective should be an obvious way to think and work. A paradigm. But it´s always much easier said than done. Making low budget product with a broad aestetic appeal in a good quality is quite a challenge. It requires skilled engineers, a wide range of competent subcontractors and good communication.

I have, in close collaboration with designer Christian Bjørn, designed products for Nordlux since 2005.

Waterlily merges two LED technologies into an aesthetics inspired by the WaterLilys dance on water and the reflections on the water surface. The edges of the pendants leaves are elegantly using RGB LED technology. White LED light, combined with a novel optical system, provides very powerful, yet soft white light, under the luminaire.

Using the included elegant wireless remote control it is possible to adjust the brightness of the white light and to set your own color on the edge of the leaves or simply use a number of the built in light scheme presets.

SmokePoint is a high-end smoking cabin. In 2004, when we began the development, there were no similar products in Denmark. SmokeSolution was a small two person sales company, which imported different types of air cleaning products.I made a thorough market and user research, and came up with the concept for SmokePoint. An exclusive high-end furniture, where smokers can smoke while socializing with non-smokers. The smokers must not be hidden away in a far corner or a small closed room, or to be exposed in a glass cage. They are to be treated with respect, so they feel like appreciated employees. After one year with SmokePoint, SmokeSolution went from 2 to 26 employees, and a turnover from 1 to 24 million DKK.

Outline and Wave are trying in their own way to show that a couch is not just something you sit in. Outline suggests, with its sloping armrests, to use the couch lying. The unconventional armrest is ideal to rest your head on. Wave allows you to use the couch on several levels. Literally speaking. The cushions go around the edges, giving the opportunity to sit on the floor and use the couch as a backrest or sit directly on the soft edge on top of the backrest.

This lamp was the first lamp I ever did. I wanted to make a simple lamp with the only purpose of making good light. You can´t position it in a thousand different angels and heights. You can just turn it ON and OFF. The design was suposed to appear classic and a bit nostalgic. The switch is similar to those from dashboards of old airplanes.

Frandsen Lighting produce the lamps and is sold by Bolia.

Many major sporting events are associated with temporality. This may be due to event-based events like the Olympics, World Championships or other major events. Many stadiums have been built to serve these events, and are left behind empty and nearly unused because of their massive size and supercapacity. But it may also be due to fluctuating sports performances. Many football clubs need better facilities with more seats and greater security. But the clubs economy is consistent with the results on the pitch, and is therefore unstable and uncertain. That means they can not invest in new and modern facilities. This makes it difficult to attract new spectators and make more money. In both cases you need a flexible solution.

I have made a Mobile Stand System which can be built, dismantled and moved to a new location. The Stand System meets the demands made for safety and number of seats under roof. And also responds to the wishes made from TV companies who want to place cameras in specific heights and positions. This provides a larger income from the sale of media rights to the matches. Just like the integrated stalls generate increased revenue during the events. Large surfaces makes it attractive for sponsors to buy advertising space. The construction folds out as you lift it off the trucks. Most of the components fit into the supplied standard containers.

MEC Access is part of the world wide media agency MEC. MEC Access does a lot of event marketing and brand building, making concepts on how to launch products, expose brands and create attention around specific companies or their activities.I have assisted MEC Access with designing and turning their concepts into implementable things. And I have lead the entire proces from the first sketch to the final result. The two projects above are typical projects from MEC Access. To the left is a mobile exhibi-tion portal I made for the product launch of SonyEricsson´s W810 cell phone. To the right is a trophy I made for the TeliaSonera SurfPort award show. The gecco was the recurring identity of the service/campaign.
