OVERVIEW During the second quarter of 2018 our team continued to build on our long history of evangelism in The Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), Kenya and Tanzania to bring Christ’s salvation and healing to those in need. We recorded an estimated 76, 865 salvations in 12 villages and 3, 927 salvations in seven prisons in Kenya.
To seek Christ does not narrow one’s life, rather it brings it to the level of highest possible fulfilment,” A quote from A.W Tozer.
Our team has witnessed amazing miracles and testimonies from the Outreach and Christian Discipleship Programme (CDP) teachings held in the 12 villages we have ministered in during the second quarter of the year.
Jesus Alive facilitates a discipleship programme in every village for God’s word in rural communities in the three nations we work. After each Outreach is concluded, we leave behind the Christian Discipleship Programme (CDP). Once a centre is established the teachings continue to be shared with the community accompanied by the Jesus film. This year, we held a combined conference with all the country coordinators in the DRC with the various pastors from the villages, to revive and inspire the pastors in the villages. The conference was held after the second quarter meetings in July.
We recorded 52, 270 salvations in the 12 Outreaches completed with 67, 450 attending the outreach meetings. The CDP forms an integral part of the Outreach model and we established 25 new CDP centres. We recorded 6, 823 salvations in the CDP meetings, 306 salvations in the schools and about 27, 011 watched the Jesus film.

DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF THE CONGO (DRC) In the DRC we reached four villages in Haut-Katanga province. The meetings were held in Kasonge, Mukabe-Kasari, Lubudi and Mbebe. Our pastor’s conference was also held in DRC after the completion of the four outreaches.
The first inhabitants that established Kasonge and Mukabe Kasari villages were hunters. Currently their main sources of income are hunting, agriculture and small businesses. These villages are predominately poor communities and this has lead to most of the villagers believing in ancestral worship and witchcraft. The Jesus Alive team was well received, and villagers were excited to hear the word and many gave their lives to Christ.
Mbebe and Lubudi were founded during the colonial era, as people migrated looking for areas to farm. In these villages agriculture is the prime source of income, followed by small businesses and fishing. Although there are over seven churches in each village, they still believe in ancestral worship. During the outreaches, they witnessed miracles that they had never seen before after our team ministered to them. It was amazing to see the transformations and hear the testimonies.
During the four Outreaches held in the DRC in the three months being reported on, 37 565 salvations were recorded. A total of 17 496 attended the CDP lessons and 15 013 watched the Jesus film. Two schools were evangelised and 408 school pupils attended the Outreach.

TESTIMONIES
MUMBA FLORIBERT Mumba is an 82 year old, married father of 10 children, from
Kasonge village. He testified that the Lord restored his sight,
he had blurred vision and could barely see for over 3 years.
JEAN MWEBE Jean Mwebe is a 46 years old widow, with six
children. She lives in Mukabe Kasari and has a small
business and farm that she owns. Since the death of
her husband she explains that life has been very hard
for her, and she had been suffering from a heart
problem. She had gone to the hospitals and they
could not find a solution for her condition. But at the
outreach she was healed and she cannot help but
just glorify God for her healing.
MULAJI KABULO JEAN Mulaji is a 37 years old father of three from Mukabe Kasari
village. I am a farmer, and this crusade has been a great
time with God for me and it has changed my life. Drinking
beer and smoking was an everyday need, and my wife and
parents have always defended my habit. It was very difficult
for me to stop, but by Gods grace, I have given my life to
Christ and I’m stopping everything.

KENYA We were once again able to share the wonders and miracles of the gospel with our brothers and sisters in Kenya’s villages of Nyangusu, Magena, Mogonga and Ogemba. Despite erratic rains and inadequate infrastructure to fully convey our Jesus Film, the local villagers met the rest of our CDP with eager participation.
Nyaramba village began to grow when the San’anyi tea factory was established in the
area. The population here earn a living through working in the tea factory and running small
businesses. Substance abuse, spiritualism and prostitution cause great distress among the
population. The response to the Outreach in this village was overwhelming.
Gesima villagers survive by growing tea, maize and bananas. Mosobeti village is
named after a tree that grows on the river bank. “We praise God for touching the
congregation in a mighty way in Gesima,” said our pastor here.
In Nyambara Mbili people make a living mainly through tea farming. The local pastors
in Nyambara Mbili were very excited about the Outreach as it was the first in the
village involving many churches.
During the four Outreaches held in Kenya in the second quarter, 23 810 salvations
were recorded. A total of 15 892 attended the CDP lessons and 7 100 viewed the
Jesus film. No schools was evangelised during this quarter.

TESTIMONIES
ALICE OGONDO Alice got herself entangled with bad company which got her into drug
abuse. She has been fighting addiction until she came for the Christian
Discipleship Program teachings with a friend who had given her life to
Jesus at the Outreach. Alice followed suit and gave her life to Jesus at
the Christian Discipleship Program class on Monday and she says there
is no turning back.
EVELYN MUTUA Evelyn had previously lacked peace and joy in her life. Now
she thanks God for this great gift, and grace of peace and
joy that she has received through the CDP programme.
PASTOR GABRIEL ONDARI Gabriel was serving a life sentence in prison. After the preaching
and prayers at the CDP launch he felt God prompting him to
appeal his sentence. He was released from prison and is now a
pastor in Mogonga village.
TANZANIA We thank God for the opportunity to reach the remote Tanzanian villages of Mwamapalala, Malita, Zanzui and Sola, and for us bring encouragement and share the Word with the people living there.
Our Christian Discipleship Programme (CDP) continues to make notable strides in the
Simiyu Region village of Mwamapalala where five out of seven pastors participated in our
CDP training sessions. Overall, the response to televised gospel outreach from
Mwamapalala’s residents has been outstanding, with many villagers expressing their joy
with the programme and how it broadens their knowledge of the gospel.
By the time our CDP started in Malita on 14 May, it was met with great excitement as
word of our Mwamapalala session had spread to the other villages. There were minor
hurdles in terms of small venue sizes at schools and churches, but we managed to
conduct our session at the nearby GO Grounds, in spite of some rain.
Superstition and witchcraft is rife in Sola Village, but villagers were elated by our
presence and the prospect of receiving the gospel and deliverance.
In Zanzui Village, pastors and villagers alike expressed the gratitude over how our
programme was able to reach remote and previously overlooked rural areas of
Tanzania with the gospel.
During the four Outreaches held in Tanzania in the three months being reported on,
15 490 salvations were recorded. A total of 7 412 attended the CDP lessons and 4 898 watched the Jesus film.

TESTIMONIES
HAPINESS NGIMBA “This is a big miracle to our village. Many people
got saved and many were healed and been set
free from all demon’s bondages. I wish to thank
our God for the coming of this ministry to our
village we are going to receive great
transformation thereafter. May God bless EV
Peter Pretorius, Jesus Alive and all the donors of
this outreach.’
CHARLES PETER LUGEMBE “I have witnessed the love of God upon His
people and it is marvelous. Even those who
were not responding positively to the gospel
have given their lives to Jesus and have been
saved through this outreach.”
MARIAMU BARERE
Mariamu’s parents were motivated to bring their
paralysed daughter after their first powerful
meeting of the outreach. They hired transport
from Meatu to Mwamapalala village. As
Mariamu arrived at the meeting with great
expectations, she was miraculously healed and
could walk with no assistance. Glory be to our
mighty God who healed her and her joy was so
evident on her face.
