TRANSCRIPT
And God, who can’t be fooled by any pretense on
our part but always knows a person’s thoughts,
gave them the Holy Spirit exactly as he gave him
to us. He treated the outsiders exactly as he
treated us, beginning at the very center of who
they were and working from that center outward,
cleaning up their lives as they trusted and believed
him. (Acts 15:6)
“But seek first the kingdom of God
and His righteousness, and all these
things shall be added to you”
(Matthew 6:33).
God didn’t send me out to collect a following for myself, but to preach the Message of what he
has done, collecting a following for him. And he didn’t send me to do it with a lot of fancy
rhetoric of my own, lest the powerful action at the center—Christ on the Cross—be trivialized
into mere words.
(1 Corinthians 1:17)
The people brought children to Jesus, hoping he might touch them. The disciples shooed them off. But Jesus
was irate and let them know it: “Don’t push these children away. Don’t ever get between them and me.
These children are at the very center of life in the kingdom. Mark this: Unless you accept God’s kingdom
in the simplicity of a child, you’ll never get in.” Then, gathering the children up in his arms, he laid his hands
of blessing on them. (Mark 10:13)
Make Jesus the Center
1. Keep the cross at the center by knowing that:
• Your heart pain is overcome
• Your dislocations are overcome
• IT IS FINISHED! NO guilt
2. Have a childlike approach
• Be humble
• Live looking
• Open and honest
• Move on
• Be curious
Romans 12:9 ‘Love from the center of who you are; don’t fake it. Run for dear life from evil; hold on for dear life to good. Be good friends who love deeply; practice
playing second fiddle.’
