WE CAN
ELEVATE YOUR GAME
2015
THE JHD TRAINING THEORYOur method of developing highly skilled hockey players is based on high quality repetition of the basic skills. Our coaches are committed to player development, not wins and losses. When the basic skills are developed and perfected, the on ice performance of the players will follow suit, leading to long term success for each player that we work with.
Jonathan Toews, Travis Zajac, Nigel Dawes, Fraser McLaren, Jannik Hansen, Travis Hamonic, Derek Meech, Dylan McIlrath, Quinton Howden, Aaron Rome, Josh Green and the WINNIPEG JETS are just a few of the professional players that we have worked with here at Focus Fitness.
THE JHD COACHING TEAMWe are a diverse group with our Focus Fitness team having degrees in Exercise Sport Science and Athletic Therapy while combining years of experience in the field with a strong passion for hockey specific training. At Focus Fitness we are enthusiastic for the game and are committed to teaching the skills and abilities necessary to succeed in hockey. Our coaches have playing experience at the junior, university, college and pro level, and now they want to share that knowledge with all the athletes they work with.
PROGRAM OVERVIEWOur program develops the transition skating, and puck possession skills that each player must possess in order to be successful in today’s game. We combine individual skill, power skating, agility, quickness and strength training along with exhibition games, intra-squad and tournament competition to ensure all players have the opportunity to put their practice into game situations. Not only are players learning the individual skills to succeed, but also learning advanced team tactics which will help them excel in game situations. We are certain the program will provide an opportunity for kids to grow as hockey players and as people. The responsibility of our spring hockey program is to maximize the player’s hockey development.
OUR PROGRAM WILL PROVIDE:
• Experienced, certified, committed and knowledgeable coaching team
• Individual skill development on and off ice
• 15 players and 2 goalies per team
• Consistent schedule with on ice practices and off-ice sessions held here at the MTS Iceplex
