THE FESTIVAL

TD CANADA TRUST TORONTO JAZZ FESTIVALJUNE 26 - JULY 5, 2009

Now celebrating its 23rd successful season, the TD Canada Trust Toronto Jazz Festival is Ontario’s largest music festival. Armed with the commitment to presenting the world’s best jazz, the Festival has grown steadily over the years and now entertains over 500,000 patrons annually. Empowered with a sophisticated knowledge of music, arts and culture, Toronto audiences rank among the world’s best; Toronto audiences strongly believe that quality of life is more important than work life, and that personal and social expression are key values. It is no wonder, then, that Toronto has undergone a cultural renaissance, anchored by the TD Canada Trust Toronto Jazz Festival.

As the kick off event to summer in the city, the Festival is the premier event of the social calendar in late June. Continually seeking to innovate and build upon previous successes, the Festival has once again expanded its footprint to now include Jewellery@Jazz, a ten-day open-air market featuring more than a dozen jewellers and craftsmen. Toronto’s newest contemporary jewellery art fair will cater exclusively to the art and design of one-of-a-kind-pieces that move beyond traditional forms of ornamentation and preciousness. Showcasing the work of local and international jewellers working in precious and semi-precious stones, gems, beads, metals, organics and recycled materials, Jewellery@Jazz is Toronto’s newest reason to stop and enjoy the jazz.

“The combination of connecting to a cultured clientele in a central out door setting filled with music is unique. Not only have I sold my work consistently to a diverse clientele, I have had people contact me months afterwards based on what they saw at the festival. It’s a great way to expand your client base and contacts, and I hope to continue doing so at the new contemporary jewellery art fair.”

-Participating Artist, Artisans Village 2004 - 2007 TD Canada Trust Toronto Jazz Festival
