115 years ago, Jewish National Fund collected coins in Blue Boxes to reclaim and build up the Jewish homeland, and played a key role in the formation of the modern State of Israel. Today, our revolutionary $1 Billion Dollar Roadmap for the Next Decade is making headlines across the philanthropic world. The Roadmap includes JNF’s leadership role in community and economic development through the Blueprint Negev and Go North initiatives, to bring hundreds of thousands of people to Israel’s north and south. In its 40 years, over 24,000 young people have walked through the doors of the AMHSI. The experience students have on this unique study abroad semester well provides them with the necessary skills to excel in college, and throughout their careers and life.

Our visionary Blueprint Negev initiative, is reshaping the Negev Desert region,. Our construction of a desert oasis within the Be’er Sheva River Park is providing a renaissance for the city; our Housing Development Fund continues to foster new community building; and we now serve 8,000 people annually at the Central Arava Medical Center.

Similarly, our Go North initiative focuses on revitalizing Northern Israel, and aims to bring 300,000 new residents to the Galilee. The campaign will increase job opportunities, provide housing, and improve the quality of life and regional pride for all residents. JNF’s new Western Galilee Visitors Center in Akko and our partnership with Western Galilee Now aid in increasing tourism, an essential element in revitalizing regional investment, economic growth, and prosperity.

With a global water crisis upon us, Israel has been at the forefront of water solutions for several decades and JNF has played a central role in Israel’s water achievements. To share Israel’s technological advancements and accomplishments in water , JNF has launched a series of U.S. Water Summits with Seth M. It is my pleasure to extend greetings, through the pages of this journal, to all those in attendance at

the Jewish National Fund’s Women for Israel luncheon. I am especially delighted to express my

sincere congratulations this afternoon’s honoree, my friend and colleague, Mr. David Siegel,

Consul General of Israel in Los Angeles.

For the past five years, David has worked diligently representing the State of Israel to communities

throughout California, Nevada, Arizona, Utah, Wyoming and Colorado. In doing so, he has built

and strengthened relationships with Jewish and non-Jewish groups and has educated the public on

Israel’s humanitarianism, creativity and inspiration. As consummate diplomat, with many years of

experience, I know he has left his mark on the west coast and will be remembered for his many

accomplishments.

On behalf of the State of Israel, I would like to thank all you for your commitment to the JNF and

encourage your continued support. And, on this special occasion, I wish David a Mazel Tov on the

conclusion of his tenure and look forward to learning of his future endeavors.

Dear Friends,

It is with great pleasure that I extend my

warm congratulations to Women for Israel

of the Jewish National Fund (JNF) on holding

its Yom Ha’Atzmaut Luncheon.

Founded in 1901, JNF was created to support the foundations of a

Jewish state. Women for Israel works to support the

organization’s mission and priorities, including education;

community building; and research and action related to forestry,

water management and environmental innovation. Today’s event

aims to support fire stations and firefighters in communities across

Israel, especially in Jerusalem.

I would also like to congratulate Consul General David Siegel on

receiving the Shalom Peace Award. Mr. Siegel arrived in Los

Angeles in 2011, not long after I joined the House of

Representatives. I wish him well on his next endeavors as he and

his family prepare to leave Los Angeles.
